Reflections at @eatnorthitalia for my series “Content & Conversations” where I go around to different places and talk about various topics. This week was spending time with my boy @brandonmherzog, who’s actually one of my oldest and dearest friends ✨🙏🏽 We’ve literally grown up together and have stayed connected over the years…and this was the first time we’d really gotten a chance to hang out in many years 🥹

I’ll post more clips soon, but check out this quick moment where we realize how long it’s been since we’ve been friends lol 😂

Shoutout to my brother @jaronkahlil! Excited for what we’re building!! 📈

Some people might be surprised to know that I wasn’t a “Natural Singer.”

I really had to WORK to be half-decent 😮‍💨 that might be why I still think I have so much further to go as a vocalist…..because I’ve had to earn every note lol 😂

Growing up in a gifted family, you don’t always value YOUR skills and the things that you bring to the table creatively. I’m so happy I found my voice and what made me unique.

I had to lean into my tone and my vibe as a singer with a slightly deeper range than most of my contemporaries.

I appreciate my brother @brandonmherzog for sharing some of his memories from our childhood and those years when I was just getting started as an artist and musician.

This is what keeps me humble and hungry 💭

Our Mom’s Night Out event filled hearts and plates! 🍽️ The menu designed by @keetacooks highlighted the women who deserve it all, all around the world with the women we love most in the room to celebrate culture in culinary! Our collaboration with @operacarolina made it possible to serve an experience as unique as the mother’s and friends who joined us for an unforgettable five-course meal.

Thank you to our attendees, chefs, sponsors, and partners who made a remarkable Mother’s Day transform into a beautiful story!

We can’t wait for our next event on July 19, featuring @your_braisen_chef for sun, sips, and savory dishes!

Give me a few, solid people over a crowd any day.

Sometimes we get wrapped up in the numbers and we overlook the value of having the right people around and involved.

On this mission, I’m paying more attention than ever to the “Who, What, When, Where, and Why.” I’ve spent way too many years just accepting whoever was willing to help, not realizing the various motives and motivations that folks have when wanting to work with you.

Keep your vision clear and your path will be that much easier to navigate.

Blessed to have the team that I’m building 📈

Stay focused 😤

It’s easy to look around you and overlook the treasures that you possess.

Your vibe and energy can’t be replicated 💫

That thing that makes you stand out without having to say a word 🫡

Be who YOU are…..don’t sweat who you’re not.

Final touches coming along nicely and I’m moving intentionally as I get these things across the finish line 🏁

Let’s keep going 📈

What a night 😮‍💨✨ A little over a week ago, we kicked off R&B Live at Pinhouse and it was a VIBE 🙌🏽

I was nervous because my voice had completely gone out about an hour before the show started and I went to McDonald’s, got some hot water, and got some tea that I’ve been experimenting with 😳 By the time we shot this video, my voice had started to come back in spurts, but it still hurt

The crowd had my back and the band took things to the next level 📈

I always love meeting folks and this night was both an introduction and reunion all wrapped up into one 🤝🏽

Major shoutout to the one and only @nathansherrodsmalls @original_randblive as well as @pinhouseclt for your wonderful accommodations 💫

Next Show: May 7th!

See you there!

Also, catch me and some dope people at Spring Colors This Thursday at the Gantt Center!! It’s Free 😬

More to come!

Getting feedback in real-time is amazing (especially if they actually like the song) 😅

My boy sent me this video and I went crazy to see how they genuinely enjoyed the vibes 🎶

Thankful for my tribe 💫

And grateful for these ladies for their reactions :
