Hello! I’m Jaryd, President and Social Media Manager of the Horticultural Society!

Thank you for all the support, and we're so excited to see you in our upcoming sessions. Houseplants and gardening have been an interest of mine for quite some time now, along with other hobbies such as art, crocheting, and video games. I’m a third-year student studying International Hospitality Management! Hope to see you all join and get involved! 🌱🪴

INTRODUCING the Committee for the 26/27 Academic Year! This will be our first full year as a society, and we're so excited to continue our momentum from our insanely successful last year. We have a phenomenal bunch of people here to make it happen.

Keep your eyes peeled for individual intros coming up soon - and you best believe we'll be at Freshers Fair to meet you all, new and returning members.

Until then, keep posted via our story - we'll have a few mini updates along the way. SEE YOU SOON SURREY 🫶

📢 Read to the end for a cheeky little announcement...

Last night we only went and won Guildford's Business of the Year! 🥹🏆

I was lucky enough to celebrate with my husband Ilya, my Mama Botanicals, my Aunty Manina, our Alexandra and what an evening it was for us! Having them there cheering me on (quite loudly, I'd say 😂) with so much love and support made the evening even more special. I couldn't have asked for more ❤️

Last year we were honoured to win New Business of the Year, and now, in only our second year as a shop in Guildford, to be named Business of the Year is something I honestly never imagined. It makes this award feel even more special 🥹

A huge thank you to the incredible @experienceguildford team for supporting us day in, day out. The awards are a bonus... and what a wonderful bonus this one is 🥰

A mahusiveeeee thank you to the judge of our category @thetommercer of @spotleruk for taking the time to read all the applications, appreciating our story and granting us the win this year. It's been an absolute whirlwind behind the scenes, especially the last few months & this is just what we needed 🥹

And with this incredible moment, it feels like the most perfect time to officially announce that from September, Rita Botanicals will be taking over the @solar.sisters.uk space! 🌿

We're moving on (or should I say into) bigger and better things, with so much planned for the Guildford community!

I'm nearly in tears writing this as I know in my mind and heart what is about to exist in Guildford and I'm thrilled to be the one along with my wonderful team, current and future, to be the ones to bring it to life!

I look forward to seeing you all there 🥰 in the meantime, come and pop your heads round our current shop in @whitelionwalkshopping, and definitely come get a plant and a coffee (ooOo, did I just say coffee 🙊) over in our new place real soon!! 🙊☕🌿

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far & been a part of our journey in some way. This is only the beginning 💚

Watch this space...

With Love,
Rita 🥰🌿

Welcome to Horticultural Society! 🌱🌵

We’re so glad to have you with us - as a new society, we’ve got lots of exciting activities, collaborations planned.

The first thing you can do is come and find us at Refreshers Fair, where you can meet our committee, ask us questions about our society, sign up, and find out about our upcoming events.

The goals of our society are simple: we aim to develop people's love and skills for nurturing plants, as well as creating a safe and positive community around the interest in gardening and houseplants. We propose running events such as quizzes, collaborations, plant swaps, and workshops, as well as inviting guest speakers who can share their knowledge.

Our committee is made up of several avid plant lovers, and if you have any questions or need any support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can see the rest of our Instagram page for our individual introductions!

We really hope to see you soon at our garden or some future sessions. Give us a follow and you can stay informed of upcoming events and collabs! 🌿🌱🪴

Welcome back everyone! Apologies again for having to delay this week’s session

As promised, our first session back will involve painting the new banner we all voted for to pass down to our new committee next year.

Congratulations again @jarydpope for winning the vote, your design for the new banner is fantastic!
Paints and brushes will be provided like normal but feel free to bring any of your own so long as they are acrylics.
Avoid getting any on the tables!

Looking forward to making this happen! See you all on Monday

📍 PLEASE NOTE‼️we are in a different room, as you can see above :)
