Last weekend in Adelaide @doubleblack1 played at the 24th Adelaide Kustom Kulture weekender.
I also went to see DOUBLEBLACK drummer and our mate @travisdemsey doing part of his day gig curating and hosting “where is my mind -creatives and wellbeing”, a symposium on mental health in the arts.
It was so cool to hear from a diverse range of creatives about how they cope and manage their lives and work in the arts. Travis kept it all rolling along nicely and people should know he’s been doing this stuff for a long time and is no slouch in this space.
The location was killer, Adelaide has so many amazing historic buildings to see and @ern.malley is a perfect choice.
Theres another one on today and if you’re local you should go…. And watch Trav walk it like he talks it. #travisdemsey #adelaidefringe #doubleblack #mentalhealth #suburbancaveman

All Airport beers and scruffy musicians at the Airport this morning as 37 bands tried to load their schidt for a weekend of bringing Melbourne RocknRoll to the rest of the country. @the_stripp, @doubleblack1 @themaviss.official, @ashleydaviesmusic, and @clesslew all hanging around doing the do, and none of us going to Sydney ha!! @jase1954 got the bull fiddle loaded up and immediately hit the Melbourne Bitter. @thefirstladyofrock got us caffeinated so all good. Now to hook up with @travisdemsey in Adelaide and tear the SA Kustom Kulture weekender a new one. Music cures all your ills. #rocknroll #punkrock #sakustomkulture #doubleblack #suburbancaveman

Jase’s Triumph Bonneville.

Trick as fuck and shot on location at Bar Black.

Might be the first instalment of a new idea I’d like to try. Shooting and doing write ups of Melbournes chopper and custom bike scene, so if you have a badass chopper and want some magazine style photos free of charge let me know. If you would be down for a small interview about the bike and story behind it even better. Willing to travel wherever. Would be shot in 35mm colour or black and white. Thanks for viewing

Tonight friends, on SBS, is a great great documentary about Australian punk. I highly recommend this movie as something that you possibly wouldn’t expect from the title. It’s heartfelt, soulful, great social storytelling, and most of all, the filmmaker the late great Jenny Ross made this her magnum opus before she passed from cancer. I worked many hours with Jenny on my segment and interview, talking about punk rock and folk music, and my fathers influence on my music and the bands I have been involved in. Vale Jenny, You were one out of the box. ☘️ #punkrock #aussiepunk #ageofrage #jennyross #tenspeedfilms #filmmaker #documentary #psychobilly #suburbancaveman
