POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One of the real pleasures of guest editing the latest issue of @habitusliving was the opportunity to share some of the people, homes and stories that inspire me.

When exploring the idea of Australian luxury, my friends Lara and Pat Rafter’s Byron Bay hinterland home immediately came to mind. It was a pleasure to interview them and style their home for the feature, marking the first time they’ve welcomed a publication into their private world.

I loved hearing about their considered approach to restoring the landscape and creating a home that feels so connected to nature, family and the way they love to live.

You can read the full story, Australian Luxury, in the latest issue of Habitus.

A little glimpse into the latest issue of @habitusliving, which I had the pleasure of guest editing.

It’s been such a wonderful opportunity to share some of my thoughts on design, what luxury means to me, and the people, places and objects that continue to inspire me.

One of my favourite parts of the experience was putting together The Lightbox, a personal collection of creatives that inspire me. Scroll right to see a teaser of some of those very special people.

A little window into the things I love and the way I see design.

A big thank you to @gillian_serisier and the wonderful team at Habitus for inviting me to be part of this issue.

On newsstands now.

THE ART OF LIVING ✨

It’s been a month since I landed back from my @artoflivingau retreat, where I shifted lifelong thought patterns & made lifelong friends, and the words I wrote in my newsletter from that time still ring true:

That spaciousness… “was a truly remarkable feeling, and one I’ve committed to expanding upon back home, with 40 days of breathing and meditation. So far so good, and strikingly, I have been able to maintain not only my practice (which has meant winding the clock back to a 5am alarm!!) but also that sense of presence in my day to day.”

True to my word, that 5am alarm has been going strong, as has the practice, and the continuing, newfound sense of clarity it brings.

What struck me about the experience was its emphasis on FOOD as one of the 4 key ‘ingredients’ to enriching your Prana, or life-force energy in #Ayurvedic medicine (the traditional system of health and holistic living that originated in Ancient India).

Combined with sleep, breath, and a happy meditative state, the right amount of food at the right time of day, can greatly improve how you show up in the world. As @padidehfazelzadeh (who is also a naturopath!) explained, the best way to think about what foods are “right” for us is in this statement:

“FRESH, ALIVE FOOD WILL MAKE YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY”

And of course, vegetables are the food group that is bursting with natural, feel-good vibration.

I usually try not to let my writing get bogged down in language or terms that can intimidate or overwhelm or feel too worthy when it comes to eating VEG, as I’d like people to first and foremost choose my recipes because they’re delicious. But I’m also very cognisant and grateful that in providing inspiration for households to get their veg on (or VEGSPO, as I’ve come to think of it!) means that not only can they cook better, they get to feel better too.

So whether it’s Prana, or Chi, or just a general sense of get-up-and-go’ness that you get from a meal rich in colour and variety, cooking with veg is one way in which everyone can tap into the life-force energy of Mother Nature. And don’t forget to take a couple of deep breaths before you tuck in too ✨
