Happy Jasmine Birthday, to Jasmine on her day of birth.

Lots of people have assumed that I’ve known Jasmine for a very very long time, it is however incorrectly assumed. We have known each other little more than a year at this point. Within three weeks we were wearing matching One rings even though she’d never seen lotr at this point. Since then we’ve been on a cruise, a drive through the night to Tahoe, multiple binged seasons of Game of Thrones, an LOTR extended edition movie marathon, and have left several thousands slaughtered dead at our feet on Vermintide. I’m resigned to the fact that I am permanently on call of mildly unhinged and chaotic endeavors and I’m prepared to fight nearly anyone on your behalf. A cruise line comedian once said to know real love is to know @jasminebacker and that’s one of the Ten Commandments.

i made my con save. fourteen on the nose. against all odds and most of my organs, the Rat King lives.

vermintide is over. jimmy champagne was released but he’s chained up again. the bell has stopped tolling. the chittering dark has receded, mostly. the prophecy is fulfilled and i regret nothing except possibly the G’s that were not split.

to everyone who came — every single one of you who showed up at murphy’s, or wandered in at firkin, or found us at bamboo, or appeared like a vision at baby gee, or held the line at stave, or made it all the way to hawk at the witching hour — yes-yes, many-thanks, ten thousand blessings upon your house. you are the reason this thing was real. you are every verse of the song. you are the reason the king has a court at all.

to the dark wizards who built the journey and kept the lore from me until the last possible moment: i love you. i fear you. i hope i would not do it again.

to the long beach skreets that held us, the bartenders who did not call anyone, the strangers who said what is happening and then bought a round anyway: salud. 🥂

i did not die. i ascended and then i descended and am now going to eat jollibee. the brim still fits. the rats are sleeping. the plant on the windowsill is putting out a new shoot.

🕯️🐀 VERMINTIDE: A VILE VIGIL 🐀🕯️

UHH what you are about to hear is a desecrated O Tannenbaum, sung over a ghoul log, in april, for a rat themed birthday crawl and I had my parents sing a verse each. i will not be defending this idea I had in the bathroom. this is between me and the Horned Rat.

a few production notes from a humble rat:

🎬 yes, that is a banner notification from @thebwerd creeping across the frame. no, i did not edit it out. i tried. i opened an app. i closed an app. the Rat King decreed that thebwerd’s intrusion was canonical,a prophetic interruption from the Outer Dark, a herald of the coming tide, one who simply texts when they text. who am i to silence the omen. bwerd, you are now lore. i’m sorry. i’m not sorry.

🎄 yes that’s a yule log. in april. for a city crawl. i don’t know what to tell you. the ghoul log spoke to me. O Tannenbaum is, structurally, the most haunted melody in the western canon. Idk ask schubert, ask the maryland state song, ask every labor hymn that quietly stole it. i simply added rats. i’m a steward of tradition. Skip ahead to see the voices it’s an actual Yule Log. most of all though — i am genuinely so unspeakably grateful for my friends, the dark wizards, the gutter saints, the pub-crawl prophets who made this whole bit real. i am utterly cheesed to see your chittering teeth out on the skreets of long beach tomorrow night. every one of you is a verse of this song. every one of you is getting a glass raised. 🥂

Wanted to give a quick shoutout to the women that answered my SOS call. I posted to my story I needed all hands on deck to get these shelves done! I wanted to have them done in 4 weeks but this is the end of week 5 and yay they are done!! But couldn’t have done it without help!!

And trust me, I actually tried. I’ve been working 15 hour days LOL. But with the help of my antidepressants I no longer have extreme social anxiety and actually found it quite lovely to work with people!

Tomorrow I will be packing them up (with the help of some more ladies) and then Tuesday they will be heading out the door. Thank you to everyone for your patience who ordered one!

Now the chaos must begin to make product for @bobbakermarionettes day market on April 12th!!! I will have shelves there, I made extra for this event!!
