Domestic violence is more than physical violence.
It can be coercion. Control. Intimidation. Financial abuse. Reproductive coercion. Sexual violence. Stalking. Isolation. Threats. Psychological abuse.
And sometimes, the biggest barrier to leaving isn’t a lack of courage — it’s the very real risk of what could happen when someone tries to leave.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re asking our community to look beyond the question, “Why didn’t they leave?”
Ask instead:
“What would make it safer for them to leave?”
Believe survivors.
Don’t judge their choices.
Don’t pressure them to leave before they’re ready.
Learn the signs of abuse.
Challenge victim-blaming.
Teach healthy relationships, boundaries, consent, equality, and respect.
And most importantly, help survivors access safety, support, and resources.

as great as the women I’m building with 🤍
different stories, different backgrounds, different personalities but the same vision, same direction, and same team. it’s more than business but together we flourish 💐🕊️🌴

first off - she waited 5 years for her husband! there were many times she could’ve lost her life, but now she speaks life into others as a light. she never lost sight of God’s will.

she operates in the spirit of love. she puts her family and friends before herself. during a hard phase of her life, she hosted me in her home for a few days while I was pregnant and I felt so loved. a faithful servant she is.

she embodies the fruits of the spirit and uplifts everyone with a bold yet soft spoken form of love. she’s so strong yet so gentle. a wave of peace and refreshment is felt during every conversation. a gifted woman and a gift to me.

she has relied on God alone through immense trauma, including brain damage. it’s unlikely that you will ever have a conversation with her without the mention of the Lord. she leaves a spiritual mark that can always be felt and never be forgotten.

she is true to who she is in any circumstance. she isn’t afraid to make mistakes or look silly. she creates spaces for women to connect and thrive together. she’s brave even when she doesn’t know what to expect.

whether she’s thriving or feeling down, she celebrates others with enthusiasm. she is confident but never seeks recognition and will always empower others.

no matter the trials she faces, she puts her heart into everything she does and pursues it all with purpose. she shares her stories with the intention to genuinely connect with and impact others.

she never hesitates to offer a helping hand. she will always remind you of how capable you are. her smile and joy can be felt through a screen. you can rely on her to uplift you.

she was diagnosed with breast cancer while being pregnant during covid. can you imagine? but her and her daughter are now thriving. she is a survivor.
