I’m feeling a little overwhelmed at just how quickly this summer has disappeared. Morocco suddenly feels like it’s creeping up fast, and I can’t help thinking about how little time I have left to get more hours on the bike before I take on the rally.

But when I stopped and reflected on the summer so far, I realised just how much I actually have been doing. From events and adventures to training, riding and everything in between, it’s been a pretty incredible few months.

I might not be exactly where I thought I’d be by now, but I’ve definitely been moving forward… and I guess sometimes it takes stopping for a minute to realise just how far you’ve already come. 🏍️🏜️🇲🇦

A week ago we were finishing up breakfast on the final day of the Summer Social 2026. Exhausted but happy. It was a brilliant four days, with a group of over 100 trail and adventure motorcycle riders coming together just to camp, chat, eat and drink.

For me, it was the culmination of a years worth of work, that went from blind optimistic enthusiasm, to a cold realisation of ‘what have I committed to…’ to ‘we have three months left and a lot to do’ to ‘it’s a few weeks away and we won’t be ready’ to ‘let’s go!’

I’ve had a week to reflect, consider, sleep and get back to normal life, including a look ahead to 2027, getting a few dates in the diaries of suppliers and writing down anything that worked (or didn’t) and any improvements to make.
Those lists will continue to grow and I’m hoping the planning and execution for 2027 will have fewer uncertainties and we will be ready. Thanks also to those who have already stepped up and offered support and to volunteer for the 2027 event.

I had spoken with some of the attendees about plans for 2027. The event worked for 35 in 2025, and also for 105 in 2026. Based on this year’s experience, I think it will scale to 200, but that is the limit for next year. I had previously talked about an upper limit of 400 in the future, but for 2027, I’d rather sell out for 200, and have that to plan for than aim higher and risk losing the ‘friends of friends and their friends’ experience that has made it what it is.

Thanks to the 66 people who have signed up in the first 48 hours of the 2027 registration being available. If I had any doubts about how this year went, that is an indication that we have done something worthwhile.

We had the pleasure of collaborating with @isoladesignsuk and @coxdownconstruction on this stunning private bar installation, crafted in Fumed Figured Eucalyptus, Bronze, and Brass. From developing their design concept into detailed construction drawings, to manufacturing the Bar Island, Back Bar Cabinetry, and a Coffee Station, every detail was meticulously executed.

The front of the Bar Island is clad in individually machined reed mouldings from solid hardwood, finished in Antique Bronze liquid metal. With the entire front of the building opening to a large outdoor tiled entertaining area, we applied our signature precision in woodwork, spacing the mouldings 0.5mm apart to accommodate timber movement due to environmental changes. This also creates an elegant, fine-line detail.

The bar tops, foot rail, and framing were all custom-made from solid brass, adding a touch of bespoke luxury.

Follow on with the Bar post - the super smart washroom. We tried to keep this simple with a bespoke designed 170cm wide Corian moulded sink in Carrara Lino and to add movement panelled the walls with a hand fluted version. The fluting is not only to add movement but also allows the joins to be hidden. Stone would not have been an option to get through the door. Matte black sanitary and hardware give an architectural look. @dyson hand dryers avoid the need for towels. The final touch - an Inception round illuminated mirror by @timothyoulton adds depth and interest.

As many Interior Designers will note the concept stage, through client meetings, re-planning the interior detail from architect drawings to final development of CAD drawings can take a long time…especially true when everything is a pure bespoke concept. This is why a client hires us, to have a totally bespoke space which is aligned to a high end London bar! We are always finding a way to source special items. The glass fridges by @truerefrigerationemea are commercial quality, had more size options and able to be custom coloured inside and out in matte black so they allowed the bar to take centre stage . A wine fridge would have been simpler but doesn’t chill to the lowest temperature required for drinks. The last slide shows the individual shaped pieces of wood side-by-side with every one coated in a bronze liquid metal. Some finishes take time and expertise to realise - thank you Anthony @jacksonbespoke This finish couldn’t be achieved any other way.

Great to recently photograph this amazing private bar we designed in West Sussex. Exterior build by @coxdown. A complete entertaining space with fully bespoke bar with cabinetry in eucalyptus bookmatched wood, fluted timber bar custom finished with a patinated bronze liquid metal. Solid brass bar top , foot rail and trim details. Bar all realised from our design by @jacksonbespoke. We even had the glass fridges custom finished in matte black inside and out. The island bar front houses dishwasher, oven (for pizzas and hot snacks) and a Quooker tap. 1 of 2 TV’s for watching sports at the bar. It’s certainly is a well stocked bar for entertaining!

Luxury Coffee Table. Probably my favourite to date. This one is off to Denmark which is quite a compliment in itself with their history and reputation in fine furniture design and making.
