ODE TO MY HUSBAND:
I remember reading 1 Corinthians 13… “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” In reflection, “Love” isn’t something we are only meant to receive. Love is a lesson, a principle and a gift. It teaches us patience when things are hard, grace when we fall short, and kindness when life experience gives us every reason to guard ourselves. We are told to pray for it, recognize it, embrace it, and pass it on. If we are lucky, we spend our lives learning what love really means.

Jason has taught me so much about this kind of love. He embodies it daily. He has shown me what it means to love someone selflessly, to make another person feel safe enough to be completely vulnerable, and to choose each other even when life isn’t easy. Jason is the person who has set my soul on fire. I am honored to know this man, but even more honored to be loved by him. He has made me feel chosen in a way I never knew I needed to feel. And in choosing me, he has taught me how to choose him… Not just on our wedding day, but every day that follows. I feel incredibly blessed that I get to learn about this love alongside him. And if the purpose of this kind of love, this gift, is to pass it on, then I hope that the life we build together becomes our way of doing exactly that. I hope the love we share spills into the people, places and things around us. Because I don’t just want to be able to say that I found the love of my life. I want to be able to say that, together, we became better people because we chose to embrace, learn and grow from this love… this beautiful gift.

I love you Jason Shozo Ogdon.

On the 16th of August 2026, in front of God, the great outdoors, and our immediate families, we said, “I do,” in the most special elopement ceremony. This was captured by our incredibly talented and passionate photographer @mareemiragliaphotography TY Sweet Friend.

We had wanted to get another dog so Blueberry had a full time friend to play with and keep her company. Raspberry by some wild chance fell into our lives. It’s a true case of who saved who 💙
