“Can we keep him for a few days?” with a photo of a black and white dog. Words from a text message Jason sent to me while I was in the middle of a massive haul at Ulta back in 2017. He knew I was too busy to say no and it was the smartest move he could’ve pulled. 😂

What we didn’t know was that Caine was going to sabotage every adoption he went to so he could stay with us, and win over not only ours, but all our friends and family’s hearts. We lovingly took him in and became part of our little family. He was there for us during the loss of Cowboy and Princess, and welcomed Duke and Daisy in to our lives. We were lucky to give the goodest boy and resident couch potato with the smallest but heaviest tippy tappy paws 7 years of much deserved love after he had gone through a difficult time prior to coming to us.

Mr. Caine earned his angel wings on Monday, which happened to also be National Rescue Dog Day; only fitting for his story. I know Cowboy, Princess, Old Lady, and many other close furry friends are welcoming you with sniffs, woofs and plenty of tacos! Sleep safe Caine, we love you forever!
