Just another RAD skater from Vista, Ca during the Skateboarding Revolution from 1989-1992 when the sponsored Pro’s fought back against the Companies. Fighting for Professional Athlete treatment, money, respect and most importantly, a level of ownership for their name, graphic, video, etc. Tired and fed up with traveling around the world, coming home with “free” skateboarding shit but only $250 in their pocket. Jason was part of very new brand of skateboarder: having been exposed to vert at an earlier age and doing very well at that, he was also a force in street skating. As the future direction of the sport was on a kind of teeter totter with vert steadily outweighed by street, Jason stood at the precipice, better suited than most, able to make strides either way the pendulum swung. Just another one of my hometown hero’s. The Setup: 1992 #hstreetskateboards @jasontrogers Ball And Chain or “Prisoner” as we called it back then. Rolling on 1991 #gullwingtrucks Super Pro III Mach V edition full composite trucks. And 1992 #powellperalta wheels. Long live #sandiegoskateboarding

Switch Stance Ollies & opposite footed switch 180s over hydrants in skate videos. Pat Brennan’s late 1991 “Celebraty” part was on heavy repeat for this teen. He’s the first to have switch and nollie tricks over hydrants in a vid. This post will focus on switch Ollie’s. Next post will focus on Nollies including the straight one of Pat’s seen here. Too rad to leave out of the snippet of his part while discussing hydrants and switch RIP Pat. : released ~11/1991 🎥 @hastings5493 ? . Frank Hirata : sw fs 180 : SMA “Hai Karate” : 1992 🎥 ? . Back in 2021, I started @wcrponskateboarding out of my exes closet. The goal, was to showcase the hero’s & unsung legends of skateboarding history. But, with an AM talk-radio feel. With inspiration from: WCRP in Cincinnati. Stretch & Bobbito, Redman interludes & BJ and the Bear. This would appear to somewhat of a challenge. But, I made it happen. 2022 introduced #PushinP, which promotes other podcasts. We discuss equipment, production & everything that goes into making each others show happen. I’m very proud of how far this podcast has come. Little over 4 years, and not only do I host. All production, promo & everything WKRP on Skateboarding related- that’s me. Thank you to all the guests who’ve come on the show, and know- It’s an honor to have each & every one of you share your stories. Most importantly: thank you all for your continued support.❤️🫡 Available on SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC, iHEART RADIO, AMAZON MUSIC & wherever you hear podcasts! 🎤: @clydesingleton 🎶: @chucktreece 🖼️: @bezotattoome FOLLOW⬇️⬇️⬇️ @wcrponskateboarding stay tuned • stay dangerous #wcrp #clydesradiopodcast #pushinp #skateboarding #culture #history #heroes #misadventures #podcast #talkradio #linkinbio

Hstreet’s “Next Generation” had the more straightforward first slid fs blunts on transition in a video. A stretching-it on whether or not it “slid” one was posted a few posts ago. But it’s also popped in to fakie. The more transfer style over a spine happens prior to this video as well. Posted prior. . Next also contains some nuanced front blunt stall firsts. (Complete list of stalls not included ) 🎥 Niko Archtipes ? . Firsts in a video. In order of appearance: . Colby Carter : Jai Lai dream noping spot qp . Alfonso Rawls : off a hip at the bird man’s . Jason Rogers : up an extension on transition @ T mags & the first on something higher than a curb that wasn’t shuv ‘d out (see previous post of Armando Barajas ) . #colbycarter #alfonsorawls #jasonrogers #hstreetskateboards #nextgeneration #1992

The homie Daniel Haney is on the Nine Club this week so I had to go back to the archive and share some of the photos we shot together back in the day. This was around the time that Dan had gotten on Foundation and was super determined to make it as a pro skater. A normal day would start by meeting up at Hot Rod (aka Motor Skateshop), hang out with Dan Druff, Matt Solomon and Chris Casey for a bit, eventually link up with Jason Rogers who’d take care of capturing video and then cruise around West LA to find a spot to shoot a photo at. To be fair, Dan always had a plan or at least a trick he wanted to get on film in mind, so for me this was great cause we’d usually walk away with something. Needless to say that while Dan made his name conquering some of the gnarliest rails at the time, his skating wasn’t limited to them. All of the photos here were scanned from / ran in Germany’s Limited Magazine around 1998.
