This is just a PSA because last time I decided to release music again the universe sorta responded by shattering everything in my whole entire world (story for another day). So I have a lil bit of a lil trauma response any time I make a step back into it. Except that I can’t not make music because it’s the only door to the divine that I do not question. So this is some stuff I’ve been up to as well as being an adult and doing businessssss. But there will be a lot of music here coming.

Thanks for your attention to this matter 🤍

Cadence is a song about heartbreak, distance, and the dissolution of relationship. Originally written in part from the perspective of god to me and me back to god as I grappled with the deconstruction of the faith of my youth. It’s come to represent the weight in love and the change of form we all experience at different stages of relationship, friendship, romance, and loss.

This song was written a long time ago and recorded over the last six months. When I started I had no idea that my Dad would pass two weeks before this release date but the timing feels fitting. The song is followed by a musical outro called “Lonely Heart” composed in such a way as to wrap a sonic blanket around the tapestry of sorrow. A nostalgic warmth encapsulated by an unsettled transiting. A slow goodbye. I hope it brings some comfort to you in whatever way you could use at this moment.

Much love,

Jason aka Homme de Fleurs
