The great photographer Duane Michals is now the Late Great Duane Michals. I met him once, a few years ago, at the Stand Bookstore. He was sincere and kind and took time to talk and listen with everyone. In fact, he was slightly taken by my name and remarked how his middle name was like mine but spelled with v. Here are a couple photos from that evening and his full name inscription in my copy of Empty New York, plus the back cover, which seems apropos of the moment. #duanemichals #duanemichalsinspired #bnw #bnwportrait #photography
