At 25, I finally descended into a dream I’d carried for years, only to discover an entire universe hidden beneath the blue.

A world so otherworldly, so achingly beautiful, it felt like stumbling upon a secret the earth had kept from us all along.

I surfaced, but a little piece of me stayed behind.

I don’t think I’ll ever look at the ocean with ordinary eyes again, knowing there’s a whole other world breathing beneath its familiar vastness.

Twenty Five, and what a fucking privilege to have witnessed a whole other universe…..

A few months ago I was sitting behind a desk.

Today I assisted my first dives as a Divemaster in training. 🤿

Still plenty to learn, but seeing people fall in love with the underwater world for the first time is a pretty great feeling.

Big thanks to the Gili Divers crew for letting me be part of the journey, and to @jaspersblueworld for the incredible photos 📸🌊

Existem medos que parecem grandes demais até o dia em que a gente decide enfrentá-los!

Fazer meu batismo no mergulho de cilindro, nas Ilhas Gili, era uma vontade que vinha acompanhada de muito medo, principalmente por causa da minha asma.

Mas, com segurança e orientação, eu consegui. 🙌🏼

E foi impossível não me emocionar ao descobrir um mundo inteiro debaixo d’água. 🐢🌊

Às vezes, a maior aventura não é mergulhar no oceano, mas encontrar coragem para mergulhar no desconhecido.

Essa experiência foi a mais especial da viagem e vai ficar para sempre na minha memória, principalmente o final em que vi as duas tartarugas tão perfeitas! 💙

What’s so tempting about Turbo? 🤩⤵️

As you descend into tropical turquoise water, there’s so much waiting for you! 🤿

Beautiful hard corals, vibrant soft corals and sponges 🪸

As you swim down the slope, keep an eye out for what’s hiding within 👀

Moray eels on the look out, lobsters, shrimps and octopuses hiding in little crevices 🐙

You can find clams with psychedelic patterns, a rock completely full of anemone fish and well disguised scorpion fish 🐟

Don’t forget to look at the sandy patches as you might see the fascinating flat faced flounders, or energetic ribbon eels! 🤩

Cuttlefish levitating above corals and our famous gili turtles cruising by for a selfie, there’s so much to see! 🐢
