there actually is a right & wrong way to fuel, but there’s also a lot of variety within that - so i’m not going into the technicalities of anything

HOWEVER… in a world where eating less is making a comeback 😩💔🫩 i want to share this bcos after years n years of fighting with food & having an incredibly destructive relationship with my diet - food is finally part of my life that brings me happiness, stability, connection, and healing (plus lots of pbs in training 🤪🤪🤪)

i honestly never thought i would get to the place i am now, and where i thankfully have been consistently since the end of 2025 - seeing food as so much more than just calories & macros on a plate, and not tracking everything (or anything atm) that i consume

i’ve learnt SO much since struggling with eating disorders, and then being diagnosed with t1d - both of those mess up your perception of food to a whole new level, and it requires A LOT of internal work to get to a better place

going through either of those can in fact affect the literal wiring of your brain, so believe me when i say it’s taken YEARS to get to a stable place with what i consume, how & when & where ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

i still have occasional intrusive thoughts that try to pull me backwards but i’ve built up sooo many reasons to remind myself why i need to eat, and why i want to !!! and also how much more there is to eating, than simply the food itself

i love love love trying new foods, eating out with friends, sharing meals with my family, cooking myself a scrummy meal, being cooked for, enjoying a sweet treat, and occasionally having a beveragino alongside all that

cheers to healing i guess 🥂🥹✨

those people being:
• me when i battled EDs for 15yrs
• me when i was vegan for 8yrs
• me for the first two years post t1d diagnosis
• skinnytok
• carbs are the enemy crew
• non whole-food haters
• coaches telling their female clients to eat <1800kcals
and the list goes on
