The detent ball mechanism on my Strapcode clasp recently loosened and it won’t close properly anymore. On one hand, I did wear it daily for nearly a year, and that’s a lot of times to be opening and closing a clasp. On the other hand, if a year of continuous wear is the clasp’s accepted life expectancy, that means you’re meant to buy a replacement every year, and I don’t know if that’s good value, or a great product. But I’ve been singing Strapcode’s praises up until this point, so I’m willing to give their product the benefit of the doubt and order an upgraded clasp later this year, and hopefully that one lasts longer. I’ve been wearing my Orient Kamasu on this green FKM strap lately, and I will always prefer the Kamasu on a bracelet, but the green and black combo is kind of growing on me. #orientkamasu #kamasu #watchphotography #watchshotoftheday #pinoywatchgeek

There’s already so much that’s been said about the versatility of black divers, from luxury legends like the Submariner and Black Bay, to affordable icons like the Duro and Fugu. Because of its well-earned reputation for being capable, functional, and stylish, this genre of watches has become one of the most ubiquitous and timeless, even outside of the watch community. My favorite black diver is my Orient Kamasu. Easily top 3 in my collection and holds the distinction of being my longest-worn daily, beating out previous record holders Addiesdive MY-H2 and Casio Royale. It’s so robust with its lume and water resistance and it goes with everything, making it the perfect watch to reach for on those days you don’t want to think about what to wear. At 42mm in diameter, it’s a little bigger than what I’m usually into, but the relatively compact dial size, sizable indexes and hands combined with a short lug to lug help make it visually smaller and surprisingly wearable. Paring it with a @strapcode O-Boyer bracelet also helped Elevate the look and feel of the watch. If you have a Kamasu I very much recommend you check them out.
