Surf #1 of the Rescue Sport Series is done and dusted! 22 Millies took on Fish Hoek on Saturday: start lines, surf entries, flags dives and a long run to finish. They came home 5th of 10 clubs with 2 🥇 2 🥈 2 🥉

Lifeguard Awards Evening 2026: Sport 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏊🏼‍♂️ 🚣

Last night, we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our competitors in the surf and pool arena at our annual Lifeguard Awards evening.

🩵Our lifeguards competed in 8 local and regional surf competitions this season as well as RSS Stillwater LWC champs
💙Two of our lifeguards were selected to the Lifesaving South Africa President's Team for the ISRC 2025
🩵One lifeguard was selected to the Lifesaving Western Cape team

Last night, we celebrated our dedicated lifeguards who patrol Milnerton beach and the outstanding achievements of our competitors in the surf and pool arena at our annual Lifeguard Awards Evening.

💙Milnerton recorded another drowning free season in 2025/26
🩵Milnerton Lifeguards performed 2831 hours of voluntary duty this season on 52 duty days
💙Our lifeguards performed 12 help-outs / rescues this season.

We celebrate our clubbies and voluntary guards who maintain our core mandate of Drowning Prevention.

INSIDE THE SERIES — JAVIN PRESENCE 💬

“This season had its ups and downs, but jumping into a board rescue with Liam reminded me why I love this sport.

We went out just to have fun at Western Cape Champs and ended up getting picked up by a shore break and spat onto the beach. It took me straight back to being a junior, sending ourselves into big shoreys with friends and falling in love with the ocean.

That moment made me realise this is what it’s all about.”

“My club @milnertonlifesaving means the world to me. It’s given me lifelong friends and a platform to grow and showcase my skills. The people I’ve met have pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped shape me into the athlete I am today.

This season, I wanted to show the juniors that you really can achieve anything you set your mind to. That mindset carried into my training and racing, and it made me a stronger competitor.”

“My favourite event this season was Western Cape Champs, where our beach relay team was able to take a silver medal, and the boys could body surf the shorebreak in our free time between events.

It was a mix of racing hard and just enjoying being in the ocean together, which made it really special.”

OPEN MENS SPRINTS CHAMPION: Samuel Booysen - Clifton Surf Lifesaving Club

Clifton’s ‘Rocket Man’ Samuel Booysen has done it again. Putting his track and beach running expertise into practice he convincingly dominated the sprint track this season to earn his pole position on the RSS leaderboard. Defending his series title from last year, it was a consistent masterclass of speed on sand from this inspiring athlete.
