Love getting to work with Kai and seeing how much progress she continues to make. 🥹💪

Had to show a couple snippets of us working on barrel turn and barrel direction with the @jawbats.softball one handed trainer. 😎

So proud of how far she’s come and even more excited for where she’s headed! The future is bright for you kid, keep working hard. 🩷

Morning tee work!

Using the @jawbats.softball trainer:
- split grip, closed stance: working on palm up-palm down and driving into the front side
- regular grip closed stance: applying the feeling from the split drill to a “normal” swing
- normal swings with the heavy bat

Then switching to my regular bat, applying the things I felt from the weighted drills to a normal swing.

🎯 What a preseason tune-up actually looks like.

When a hitter comes in before the season, we're not rebuilding anything — we're sharpening. For this D1 player from Weber State @wsusoftball , that meant getting the hands back into a strong starting position so the barrel has a clean path, then driving through the ball instead of pulling off it. Add band work to keep the rotation strong and you've got a swing that's ready for live pitching on day one. Fundamentals, refined. 🔨 This is where swings are built.

🔥 Coaches — what's your go-to preseason focus? Drop it below.

🥎 "My hitter swings as hard as she can but the ball just dies. Why?"

Because she's swinging with her upper body. Power doesn't live in the arms and chest — it lives in the legs. Here she's learning to sit into her backside and drive from the ground up, so the energy builds in the lower half and travels up into the barrel. 🔨 The upper body only delivers power; the legs create it. Want more power? Use your legs. This is where swings are built.

👇 Where does your hitter get their power? Drop it below.
