Athletic Baseline Testing

Listed in order shown. Not in order completed.

#1
* 5-10-5
- First, athletes will sprint 5 yards. Then, plant their foot and run 10 yards in the opposite direction. After 10 yards, the athlete will plant their foot again and run 5 yards back to the starting line.

#2
* Shuffle-TO-RUN
- First, athlete shuffles 10 yards. After that, the athlete plants their foot and runs back 10 yards.

#3
* Vertical Jump
- This is a vertical jump with no lead in step or gather. Hands are held high after initial arm swing. The athlete will get three attempts.

#4
* 10 Yard Sprint
- Our goal is not to determine an athlete’s max speed. The goal is to determine how fast can the athlete get to their top speed. This particularly important because athletes often do not have 15 yards to gain their peak speak. They need to access that speed quickly. Though we do not test long distance sprints. We feel that by testing/training the short sprints, this will make the athletes quicker.

#5
* Vertical Jump Barbell Mate
- This tracks the speed of the jump. This is a way to determine how fast an athlete can jump. By determining how fast an athlete can jump we can determine their relative athleticism.
- Our goal MPS (meters per second) is 1.0
- All athletes start with no resistance on the squat machine. We add weight until their peak speed is no longer within 1.0
