Wow wow WOW what a weekend Masha’Allah!

Friday, @calfilmfestival sent us the wonderful news that we had been elevated to semifinalists in their festival! I was so honored and excited to share the news with our cast and crew :)

Come Monday, @indieshortfest emailed us that we were finalists in not one, not two, but THREE categories for September 2026! Insha’Allah has officially been nominated for
Best Indie Short Film
Best First Time Male Director
Best Ensemble Cast

I’m shaking. I don’t even know what to say. To go from never directing before to being nominated for an award the first time I put something on screen is so unbelievably moving. To watch my cast who gave their literal everything every single moment on that set get the recognition I fully believe they deserve fills me with so much joy and so much pride. To know that this movie that centers Palestinian love and joy has made it so far in three separate festivals gives me so much hope.

I feel a lot right now. And I’m grateful for all of it, I’m grateful for all involved, and I’m so excited for whatever will come next.

The first of many for Insha’Allah, insha’Allah 🥺

I could not be more proud of my cast and crew. Nearly 2 full years after we wrapped on set, Insha’Allah has entered the festival circuit—and we have officially received our first selection!

@calfilmfestival is a curated, online festival with a laundry list of household names as previous winners of different categories. I don’t take it for granted for a moment that my screenwriting and directorial debut has been selected for the same festival that won Bella Ramsey an award ❤️

To my cast: thank you for telling this story with me. You brought yourselves into the roles in a way that exceeded my wildest expectations. You elevated every word I wrote to mean more and hit harder than even I intended. Thank you ❤️

To my crew: the hours, the speed, the skill, the finesse you all put in to bring this film to fruition is a blessing I can’t thank you enough for. From some of you joining your first ever film set to help, to some of you helping run the set better and more efficiently than I knew how to—Insha’Allah didn’t get made without each of you.

I hope to share updates about more festivals and an eventual premiere in the near future—but for now, I’m grateful and excited to celebrate such an incredible first :)

Nearly two years after picture wrap, the short film I wrote, directed, starred in, and helped produce, Insha’Allah, is finally complete :)

Grateful for every ounce of effort, every moment of patience, every second of joy that went into making this a reality ❤️ and so so happy that this unbelievable cast and crew can see all of their hard work pay off :)

For now it’s a waiting game—10 film festival submissions and a lot of hopes and prayers. But in the not so distant future, I look forward to sharing ways to watch our 26 minute movie that shows a world free of oppression. One of harmony, of love, of peace. One of a Free Palestine.

One that one day, will be, insha’Allah.

The Great Divorce of 2026 🥺

After 7 years of living together, @rjpratt37 and I have officially moved out. We spent our entire adult lives until this point as roommates. So many lines run, so many shows done, so many trips taken, so many birthdays, so many dnd sessions, so many all nighters where other roommates would tell us to “stop giggling”. And the occasional fight about Star Wars or the literal weather lol 😂 few people on earth I would choose to be stuck on an elevator with other than you my guy.

So…game night? When? And uhhh…who’s house 😭

Our third Collective short film, "Cutthroat", has officially been completed! 🎥

This film turned out HILARIOUS because each person involved (from writing to cast to crew to editing!) put their heart & humor into it! Thank you all! 🍷

2 weeks ago today, we brought this movie to life.

An unbelievable cast, a crew that carried us to the finish line 17 minutes ahead of schedule, and a story I’ve wanted to tell since Nov 5, 2024.

The third project attached to my and @rjpratt37 ‘s production company, Dirt Roads Productions, We Save Us is my sophomore film as a director—and I’m really proud of what we made happen in 9 hours on set together.

The two party system is holding us hostage. Politicians will not save us on either side of the aisle. Time will not save us. Only when we stand together— when we decide to fight fascism, united in hope and purpose—

Only then, can We Save Us.

End Fascism, Abolish and Prosecute Ice, Free Palestine.
