My first powerlifting post in 30 months and first competition in 32 months. Competed last week at 2022 CPU National Championships taking first place in the Men’s M2 66kg classic and equipped categories, earning a few PRs and provincial records, and securing a spot at 2022 International Powerlifting Federation World Masters Championships to be held here in St. John’s in October.

Much thanks to Jeff and John at @709powerlifting for organizing and running such a well done meet of this quality, to all the amazing volunteers who made it happen, to my family who cheered for me and sent messages of support (especially Lauren, my loudest cheerleader 📣), to @coachrobertking and my HW lifting friends. And a very special thank-you to @daniellehussey11 for your coaching, handling, perfect knee wraps, and constant encouragement. So proud of you for your great lifting and gold medal in Women’s equipped M1 57kg and for earning your spot at Worlds. Seeing you break your own National squat record, that you trained so hard for, was the icing on the cake. You made this my most enjoyable meet ever and I can’t wait to experience Worlds with you!
