Last Friday night, we held Revolution Now’s Rise Together Art Gala at the gallery, and it was nothing short of electric. The energy in the room was warm, welcoming, vibrant, and alive with possibilities.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support and celebrate Revolution Now's scholarship winners: Justin Gray, Ava Dedier, Alyssa Morgan and Michael Freitas; Indigenous orange shirt designer and artist Keith Gattie and Sharna Gumbs, new youth mentor. Proceeds raised will fund Revolution Now’s 2026 scholarship funds.

We so appreciate these lovely words from @_revolutionnow:

"Some spaces are built with intention. Rosa Calabrese is the heart behind Royal Rose Gallery, a space she intentionally created as a sanctuary for connection, creativity, and community. More than a gallery, it is a place where people gather, stories are shared, and art becomes a bridge.

Rosa is widely recognized as a community angel for the way she opens her doors, her time, and her heart to artists and community members across Aurora. Her belief in art as a tool for connection and care is woven into everything she does.

That commitment also extends into her role as a board member with Revolution Now, where she helps guide work rooted in youth empowerment, equity, and collective care.

That is why Royal Rose Gallery is the perfect home for the Rise Together Art Gala.

This evening is about more than art on display. It is about coming together in a space that reflects the values we stand for. Connection. Inclusion. Rising together as a community.

"Expression and graffiti" PT. 1

This work is aimed to express my love and for graffiti style art and black-centered work.

• "See None, Say None" - 24/03/2025
This work was inspired by the Afro American culture centered around the "no snitching" unwritten rule.

• "Nigga what?" - 20/03/2025
Inspired by the boondocks character "Thugnificent", this work aims to represent the expression of afro Americans' perplexion followed by the phrase "nigga what?"

• "OUTKAST" - 21/03/2025
Inspired by the album cover "STANKONIA" from the 90s iconic duo outkast. A staple in the rap culture and an inspiration for many other rap artists.
