My Aunt Alice passed away a few days ago, it was unexpected and jolting to get the news 🥹🫶 Over the last few days, all the memories- talks - relationship we have had played over & over again; I do smile & tear up with love for who she was and am eternally grateful for her in my life!! Shopping this weekend with Tony filled me with both love and sadness, I saw and felt her everywhere as I saw old fashioned / vintage Santa Clauses Everywhere; she was definitely winking at me -- it was beautiful to see her everywhere!! Aunt Alice 's passion / love for antiques was unmatched & unmeasurable She and my Uncle Bud had a beautiful love of antiques especially from the 1800's and built quite a business together!! Her straightforward nature and looking at life in the simple measures was inspiring to me 🫶🩷 Her and my uncle had such a beautiful love story for the ages !!! Saying goodbye through love and tears in only the way my aunt ended our talks & calls " I am going to have to go, my ear's hurting " I will miss you Aunt Alice and will always treasure you--- thank you for being a Great - Role model to me xoxoxoox. love always, j & my family 😘 of boys / men 🫶🩵🩵

Ladies it's time to love yourself first. We are such great caregivers and always put ourselves last.

On this day 8 years ago I was going in for a prophylactic hysterectomy.
I woke up in the recovery room with the Doctor's telling me I have cancer everywhere. I got up to my room in shock & dread on my husbands & parents faces. I remember telling them that I'm gonna fight!
That's what I've been doing for 8 years minus a break for 3 months. HIPEC surgeries, Chemotherapy, maintenance, bowel obstruction, radiation. I've had care at the top 3 Hospitals in Baltimore. I was blessed with amazing Doctors, nurses, techs, nutritionist.

I'm grateful for everyday; 8 bonus years. In the beginning I was resistant to resting. Everytime I felt an ounce better I always overdid it. I've gotten smarter and rest. As one of my dear friends called it 'sacred rest'. I took up art therapy while in this fight. I've had my cards professionally printed & sell them. The proceeds going to Ovarian Cancer Organizations. @stefripple @tealdiva_ovca
I tell my story any chance I get. I'm involved with the NOCC (National Ovarian Cancer Coalition) OCRA (Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance). Telling my story to strangers, 3rd year medical students, Reps on Capitol Hill. I've lost so many friends from this cancer. I have to be the voice for them & myself.

Having stage 4 Ovarian Cancer is ugly and it's one if the deadliest of all gynecological cancers.
Please familiarize yourself with the risk factors, signs & symptoms. Also, if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancers please please get genetic testing.
I had genetic testing in 2008 and have Brca 1. If I didn't get genetic testing I wouldn't be here writing this.

Lots of Love to my Husband, Mom & Dad, My sister & family, extended family and friends. 💙💙💙
