Unfiltered with Augustah | Episode 10 — In Between Everything

fashion, beauty, becoming, and the moments in between.

this episode felt like a little bit of everything — shooting, trying new food, updating my digitals, heading to set, celebrating my best friend’s dream purchase, getting surprised with something I’ve been wanting, and ending the week with girls night.

still creating, still working, still figuring it out, and making sure I enjoy my life while I’m doing it.

see you in the next one. 🤍

We cap off this ARTWorks season with a final series of Art Professionals and Artists visits in May which included financial knowledge, a Mentor exhibition openning, tours of galleries and a residency.

We began with our final meeting at JCAL to soak up financial literacy with Moneytact.ai hosted by @tehsingn Fellows were offered basic to advance steps to financial planning, investing and goal setting. Finances are a delicate topic and each fellow was offered an opportunity for one on one consultation.

Next we were invited to a private opening reception by ARTWorks mentor @guystanleyphiloche for the launch of ‘While They Are Here’ From the “Give Us Our Flowers” Series. Fellows witnessed all the moving parts for a successful launch and celebration of an exhibition openning. Including meet and greet, press presence, celebrity and influencer endorsement, fellow artists support and much more.

Lastly a one day curated tour of notable galleries located in the Lower East Side and Residency tour. First stop:
@hannahtraoregallery with a tour led by founder Hannah Traore. Fellows were given a wonderful opportunity to learn from Hannah about the ins and outs of operating a leading gallery in NYC and the process of collaborating with artists, art fair schedules, behind the scene administrative work and moments of celebration.

Next stop, an impromptu visit to @perrotin to check out the latest art installations. Fellows witnessed the presentations of mid careers artists between 3 floors of immaculate exhibition space. The experimental work on view offered a sense of whats possible for a future career.

Our last and final stop was in China Town to @bolsterarts residency hosted by founder @lydianobles and current Bolster Arts resident @delvinlugo . Grateful for the presentation on the origin story and growth journey of Bolster Arts by Lydia followed by Delvin’s experience as a fellow and the gains made in is practice during his residency.

Each visit offered a unique perspective of the many layers within the Art world. Fellows were encouraged to inquire about the topics related to their practice, gaining valuable insight to a world with no particular set path to s
