Day 7. The “Oh Baby” dance shoot.

We stayed at West Kowloon Park but hopped around to different spots all day. What stood out was the energy. The dancers left absolutely everything on the pavement. Watching @raj_choreo (our choreographer) completely locked in, dialing in the choreography and angles, and then seeing our cast work their asses off to nail the moves for the lens—it was pretty inspiring to watch. @kunjgutka @srinivas__cinematographer @jawajifilms

Proud to share the news.

Variety has announced our supporting cast: Sham Kaki, Qbobo, Virginia, Ahtisham, and Jayan, alongside Law Kar-ying and Paw Hee-ching.

Kaki and Qbobo were with me on My Indian Boyfriend. Having them back means a lot. And watching Ahtisham, Jayan, and Virginia step into this world has been one of the best parts of the project so far.

Also glad to have Kunj, Shravan, and Vamsi back and on board behind the camera, plus Eric Low leading our local unit. And Nasrul, Ming, and the whole team holding it together.

Thank you to Naman for the write-up.

Day 2 Highlights.

Day Two.

Back at Chater Road, where we danced for My Indian Boyfriend six years ago.

Then a nearby location fell through on us. We moved to Wan Chai Ferry Pier — and the skyline along the waterfront became the backdrop instead.

Nothing goes how you plan it. You just keep going.

Day 1 done and dusted.

Yau Ma Tei to West Kowloon, and somehow we got through it all. We’re still learning each other. How we move. How we work. How we dance. But we’re getting there.

Day 2, here we go again.

A beautiful celebration of culture and community! To mark the opening of our Grand Tribute, we shared a wonderful Pooja ceremony led by Hari Om.

It was heartwarming to see our diverse cast and crew embracing this cross-cultural journey together.

Big thank you to our local venue sponsor for championing and lending a big hand to indie filmmaking in HK!

And we're off.

We officially launched The Grand Tribute with a blessing ceremony, cake cutting, and the whole team together for the first time.

Great to have our cast — Law Kar Ying, Nina Paw Hee Ching, Virginia Lau, Ahtisham, Jayan, Shanaia, and the rest of the team — in one room.

Grateful for this team. The journey begins. -Sri Kishore

The Grand Tribute is officially in motion.

We held our kick-off ceremony yesterday in Central, and it was wonderful to see the cast and crew together for the first time — including Law Kar Ying, Nina Paw Hee Ching, Virginia Lau, and rising talents Ahtisham and Jayan.

Grateful to the press for covering the event and sharing the story behind this film. It’s a tribute to Hong Kong’s elderly, to Cantonese opera, and to the diverse communities that make this city what it is.

We have officially closed the @thebootstraptheatre.hk production, "JOB: Fateful Fever Dream."

Thank you to all our collaborators, performers, staff.

I am glad the work moved people emotionally, intellectually, spiritually.

Let's go whichever way the winds may blow.

And on to the next work.

And just like that, we have officially opened "JOB: Fateful Fever Dream." I started writing the script and music of this play (I actually refuse to call it a musical -- but eh, no problem) in 2024, right around the last run of Mula sa Buwan in the Philippines. @j.c.santos asked me if there's something we can work on, and I said, "Yes, I think I do." And now we're here -- our first staging of my original work in Hong Kong.

To paraphrase Bob Dylan, "JOB: Fateful Fever Dream" took two years to write, and 12 years to live. It's a story of displacement, disappointments, and doubts -- and how to cope with them.

Can't thank everyone enough:

The whole @thebootstraptheatre.hk team (@tanyacsales, @gnttgys, @thats_so_therese, @ubaminator, @kwinsi, @thejesterknaves, @kikyaim)

Tita Lulu and Tito Randy Salazar

The creative and prod team:
@ericksondizon, @amuercalderon, @miguelpolenio, @thisismiejke, @pui__hui__, @michaelpomu

Of course, the whole cast and staff. Can't tag you all because IG won't let me, but you all know of my love for you.

And now, 11 more shows to go... for this first run.
