Welcome back to the EV series on Tinkergineering, featuring @914electric and powered by @914rubber 💪 ⚡

This episode is all about the relay box and the @canadian_electric_vehicles CanEV heater kit!

Mark and I built the relay box together, and I have to say, I really appreciate the layout. Everything is super thoughtful, with all the power on the left and all the signal on the right. Detailed instructions for the whole thing are in the 914EV Conversion Guide on the 914Electric website.

What’s inside the relay box:
🔌 White fuse holders and a bunch of relays
📟 EV West tach driver (more on what this does when we program the gauges!!)
🧠 Thunderstruck Dilithium Design MCU (the BRAINS!!)
🔥 Mini contactor for the CanEV heater kit

Having another person in the shop makes life SO much easier. Huge thanks to my pilot hole driller today, because these drill bits love to grow legs and go for a walk on this smooth paint haha.

Before mounting anything, I installed the 914Electric fuel tank window cover to keep rocks and dirt out of my front bay.

Then it was time for the heater! I’m running the @canadian_electric_vehicles CanEV 144V heater kit. Since this is an EV, there’s no engine waste heat to warm the car or defrost the windows, so this kit fills that gap. It’s perfect for the job, and I highly recommend it.

Both the CanEV heater and the relay box are mounted on the 914Electric mounting bracket, which is really cool because it uses existing mounting points in the car!

I mean… WHAT?! 😭✨

What Happened in Beulah is in TIMES SQUARE!!!

There are some moments in this whole book journey that just stop you in your tracks, and this is definitely one of them.

Still taking this in. 🫶 📚

A huge thank you to @jaybyrdfilms, @spastuszak and @kathmschmidt for making this moment happen, and to @shewritespress and @simonandschuster for helping bring Beulah out into the world. What a day. 🥹✨
