Walking across that stage as a graduate and standing at the podium to give the commencement speech for the Class of 2026 is something I’ll carry with me forever.

I meant every single word I said. No matter how hard life gets, all you can do is keep moving forward. Keep showing up, keep believing in yourself, and trust that you are capable of more than you think.

To my classmates, I know every single one of you is going to do amazing things. We are officially Mankato West High School alumni, and that is such a crazy thing to say out loud.

A huge thank you to all of the faculty, staff, and school board members who supported us, believed in us, pushed us to be better, and helped shape our high school experience. Your impact will stay with us long after graduation.

And to all of my sophomore, junior, and senior babies, I’m going to miss you all so much. Enjoy every second of high school because it goes faster than you think. I’m so proud of all of you already, and I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish.

To the incoming seniors: this is your year. Be present, take the pictures, go to the games, make the memories, and don’t spend so much time worrying about what’s next that you forget to enjoy where you are right now. It’ll be over before you know it.

Forever grateful for the memories, the people, and the moments that shaped me into who I am today.
