These past few years at Elizabeth City State University changed my life in ways I never expected.

My first two semesters, I ended up in room 113 Ville surrounded by football players. At first, I thought it would distract me and pull me into chaos. Instead, those 113 boys kept me grounded. They were men of God first, and through them, I found God myself. I began building my life around Jesus, and it completely changed the direction of my life.

What’s crazy is seeing how every single one of those guys continues to grow, inspire, and make an impact.

I know I haven’t been around much these last two semesters. A lot of people probably thought I disappeared or was avoiding everyone, but the truth is life demanded everything out of me. My family depends on me. Between 18+ credit hours, maxed out summer classes, building The Beaming Krewe, and helping start the Asian Aviation chapter, I had to isolate and stay locked in.

There were days filled with classes, business calls between lectures, little sleep, and constant pressure. But it was necessary. I could not waste another second being away from my wife, my kids, and the future I’m trying to build for them.

To Faithway Apostolic, the staff and students at ECSU, the 113 boys, and everybody around that circle, thank you. Through all of you, I found faith, purpose, discipline, and direction. You inspired me to become the best version of myself.

I hate that I wasn’t able to walk every step beside y’all these last semesters, but please know the love and appreciation was always there.

This is not goodbye forever. Just the closing of a chapter that changed my life forever. 🤍
