Mckinlee traveled with the @rtsctrainingcenter team to Nashville this past weekend to compete in an @ibjjf Open, where she earned a well-deserved victory. She won by points, showcasing an impressive guard pull, sweep, pass, and finishing with herself in mount. Her dedication to training, especially at her age, is truly remarkable.

Recently, she’s added wrestling to her regimen, balancing both wrestling practice and jiu-jitsu, but it’s on the mat where she truly thrives.

Mckinlee’s win played a key role in securing the team’s 1st place overall medal in her age category!

I’m forever grateful for our team and everyone who has supported and invested time and effort into helping Mckinlee. Seeing the joy and happiness she experiences on the mats is all I could ever hope for as her mom.

A huge thank you to her coaches, @raymonterry , @joedac.jj , and @abe_waki , for constantly pushing her and always having her back—even when you have a wedding to attend! You guys show up no matter what, proving that this team is so much more than just a group.

Thanks also to the friends and family at home who supported and cheered her on. It truly takes a village.

Mckinlee is currently ranked #1 overall in her age and weight class and #17 in her age group.

This is just the beginning for my little peanut, and I can’t wait to continue watching her grow and evolve in this sport. #bjjgirls #jiujitsu #team #ibjjf #wrestlinggirls

Mckinlee is an IBJJF Pan American Kids Champion✨this time last year she was a white belt helping other kids train to be on this same exact stage. To work for this same goal, she wanted so badly to be there too but she just wasn’t there yet.

She told her Coach she wanted to do Pans and we all agreed we would see how she progressed over the next few months. Being a multi sport athlete her training schedule was a bit challenging but my focus has always been to let her be a kid first, and her dictate what she wants. But if we make a commitment we follow through 100%.

When Mckinlee was promoted to grey belt at the beginning of this year, her whole attitude changed. She started to focus more, ask more, her drive to do more was there. Her growth excelled under the guidance of our truly godsend kids Coach Joe. Who’s patience and willingness to make sure each kid understands not only the fundamentals of this sport, but also that they can successfully apply it has helped her excel. For Abe who has taken the razzing from the kids with a smile on his face , but has pushed her to keep going, to keep driving to never give up.

From her endless hours drilling wrestling with Doogie, Josh and Lydia. Who all three have different styles of how we apply it but have given her concepts and knowledge that she can use and apply in many scenarios and matches.

To our head Coach Ray, your support doesn’t go unnoticed. Your love for the team as a whole, and the level of commitment and support you give to everyone from kids to adult from hobbyist to athlete is amazing. This is not just a team it’s a family, and it’s because of the values you have instituted into all of us.

For our friends and family we love you all, thank you for all the support! Thank you for being there through crazy hours, or weekends. Not seeing us for a few days due to training 🤣

And to my peanut, I love you 3000 babygirl 🫶🫶 us against the world
