Building something meaningful takes more than an idea. It takes people who believe in it before it exists.

On October 12, 40 former pros from the NFL stepped onto El Dorado Country Club for the first-ever Beyond The Game Invitational.

When you look at this room, you see athletes. If only people knew what they went through to get here. The early mornings no one saw. The injuries, the doubt, the sacrifice. And the hardest part of all: waking up one day when the game is over and asking, “Who am I now?”

That’s why this exists. To move from “what I did” to “who I am,” together.

To every athlete who showed up and opened up: thank you. You made this day what it was.

To @lululemon : thank you for believing in this vision from day one and for showing up for these athletes in such a big way.

To @foreathletes : thank you for helping bring this to life and building it alongside me.

A year ago today, I received some of the scariest news of my life.

What I thought was going to be a simple weekend trip turned into a life changing moment. I found out I had a brain tumor the size of a plum and needed immediate surgery. I was told that if it hadn’t been discovered, I could have had only a few months left to live.

In the blink of an eye, everything I thought mattered suddenly changed. But one thing I know for sure is that GOD had bigger plans for me. 🙏🏾

You can’t tell me God isn’t real.

I share this because somebody out there might be going through the darkest season of their life right now. Whatever you’re facing, don’t give up. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pushing forward. You never know how quickly God can turn your entire life around.

A year ago, I was fighting for my life. Today, I’m living it with a whole new purpose.
