🏫 Danbury International Academy is approved and ready. So why is it still closed?

📍 In Danbury:

✅ Approved by the CT State Board of Education in 2018
✅ Building ready at 2 National Place
✅ Plans to start with 6th grade and add one grade each year through 12th
⏸️ But it is still blocked because the state has not approved its operating funding

📍 Meanwhile, in Bridgeport, Achievement First Bridgeport Academy has been serving families since 2007. Today, more than 1,000 students from kindergarten through 12th grade learn there, in a free public charter school open to all.

🎓 Rigorous academics focused on college and career
🤝 Character development and student support programs
📈 Its 8th graders score 16 points above the state average in reading (ELA)

Bridgeport families have had this option for almost 20 years. Danbury families deserve the same.

Charter schools work. Danbury is ready. Now it just needs the funding.

More Than Just a Game It’s About COMMUNITY!

Today at the Kickball Kickback, we had the opportunity to catch up with Jayme from Jayme Outside and Ryan from Puzzles to talk about the power of bringing people together!

At LEAD Greater Danbury, we believe that strong communities create opportunities, build connections, and inspire positive change. 💙

We’re proud to support events that unite our community while continuing to advocate for educational opportunities.

🤝 Together, we’re building something bigger than the game!

Danbury’s students have waited long enough. 📚❤️💙

A public charter school means more opportunities for students, more education options for families, and greater support for underserved communities.

The school was approved. Funding is the final step and our community’s voice matters.

What a VERY special weekend for the Puzzles community!

We are extremely proud to have sponsored TWO incredible events this past Saturday: @theyoungwomensinitiative and @amaral_luc

Both events were organized by Gen-Z teams, which is such an encouraging reminder of the future of our community and the impact young people can have when they turn their ideas into reality.

The first event was organized by our very own @gimastelari, who brought her vision to life by bringing together nearly 100 women to inspire, empower, and support one another. It was a beautiful event that showcased strength, courage, and community.

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to Giovanna for all of the hard work and dedication she put into making this event happen!

The second event was organized by @amaral_luc, who was inspired to bring the community together through the joy of music and dancing. To make the day even more special, students from @ryfucci45 were able to attend and enjoy the event alongside @jayme.outside, another Gen-Z organizer within our community.

This weekend was a perfect example of what happens when young leaders, community members, and organizations come together to create something meaningful.

We are so proud to support the next generation of leaders and continue building a community where everyone has a place.

This weekend, we became one piece closer to a more inclusive community.❤️

Summer 2026 was honestly such a good one ☀️

Between Dimitri’s birthday, Elle’s graduation and birthday, meeting new people, making new friends, random plans, late nights, and a lot of laughs with some of my favorite people, there were so many good memories packed into this summer.

Definitely gonna miss it, but I’m really glad I got to spend it with the people I did. 🫶🏼 @jayme.outside @dimitridefeo827 @nikita_redmond_ @adriana_defeo_ @noahsalernooo @itz.gmj @ellemusen @joyymetzger

New trampoline day with Jayme 🤸‍♀️😂🏂

Had to make sure she was properly equipped so she can keep practicing her flips, work on some new tricks, and start getting ready for snowboard season ❄️🏂 What was supposed to be a simple “let’s get a trampoline” day somehow turned into a whole adventure 😂😭

But honestly, seeing how excited she was made it worth it. Now there are officially no excuses… snowboard season training starts NOW 🤸‍♀️❄️🏂😂

Can’t wait to see what crazy flips she learns on this thing next 😭

🎉 DIMITRI’S 21ST BIRTHDAY!! 🍻🎱🕹️

We had to celebrate the big 2️⃣1️⃣ the right way, so the crew hit Round1 for Dimitri’s first legal drink, some pool, arcade games, and a whole lot of chaos 😂🔥

Such a fun night celebrating one of my best friends and making some great memories together. Happy 21st again, Dimitri! 🥳🍺 @dimitridefeo827 @nikita_redmond_ @jayme.outside
