Happy birthday, James Dean! ❤️ This year has been such a special one, filled with so many beautiful moments and celebrations, and I know there are so many more to come. Watching you grow, build your life, and become the person you are today makes me so incredibly proud. l love you like you love making sourdough bread, meeting for coffee, Disneyland, the farmers market and of course, Ivan 🤍

A summer well spent looks a lot like this… 💃🏻☀️🥂 Girlfriends, hubby, late nights, big laughs, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. ✨ Still having fun, still making memories, still refusing to act my age. 🩷

Watching this little moment today made me realize how incredibly blessed Savannah is.

To coach Van well is to know that she’ll work incredibly hard for you if she knows you care about HER.

For her, that means listening to one more “Can I tell you something?” or “Can I show you something?” than you probably planned to. It means letting her be exactly who she is before asking her to do something hard.

Those moments may seem small, but to Savannah they’re everything.

@chrislor15 does this so naturally, but he’s not the only one. Savannah is surrounded by dance teachers and coaches who see the little girl before they see the athlete. They take the time to connect, to listen, and to build trust. And they are the ones who get the very best of her.

As her mom, I don’t take that for granted. Thank you to every coach and teacher who has taken the time to know her and for understanding that these little conversations aren’t getting in the way of her progress…they’re the reason for it. ❤️
