This was SUCH a good post from @studioeightyfive_ being on your feet for hours often zero or little breaks, no or little drink/food times. You often have back to back clients. Your energy has to be SPOT ON you have to make conversation, connection and gain trust FAST. We are the problem solvers, best friends and therapist as well as the profession we were hired for.

And no matter how good a wedding went it takes A LOT out of us.

We’ve put steps in place to help us:
1. Smaller number of clients we do per wedding. We no longer do big bridal parties as a DUO we now get additional artists we pick and trust to work with us.

2. We no longer work Sunday! Even admin (which is hard) we try not to even be on socials and just fully LOG OFF and be present with our families.

3. 1 wedding a day. Even if it’s an elopement that’s all we will do!

4. Bethany’s personal favourite- “I don’t cook on weekends” I uber eats or eat leftover meals that I’ve frozen midweek. After work I’m not working at home too ❌

Are you in the industry? Do you feel this wedding hangover feeling? What steps have you implemented to help yourself?

Your wedding budget shouldn't be a checklist of things you think you're meant to have.

Before we start designing a wedding, we want to know what our couple actually cares about.

Incredible food? Let's make the dining experience exceptional.

A room that takes everyone's breath away? Let's put the design budget where it will have the greatest impact.

Live music is non-negotiable? Then let's make that a priority from the beginning.

Trying to make every single element equally impressive usually just means spreading the budget too thinly.

Choose what matters to you and do those things really well. xoxo
