We take the music very seriously.
The faces… not so much. 😂
Some nights you’re tired. Some nights your body hurts. Some nights you question every life decision that led you to standing on a stage in front of thousands of people.
And then the lights hit. The amps come alive. The room starts moving.
And somehow… this still feels like the greatest job in the world.
We’ve spent a lot of years making noise, making memories, and apparently making some absolutely terrible facial expressions along the way. 😂
This is why we keep showing up.
This is why we keep giving everything we’ve got.

The Last Word — available now. 🖤⚡️

TRACK 1: Failing The Conversation

All this week, I will be doing deep dives into the lyrical subject matter of every single song on our new album.

“Failing The Conversation” is an observation of many conversations. As conversations happen around us all we can see, the trend. I felt needed a bit of the spotlight.

Whether politically, artistically, ethically, etc we’ve become divided for the sake of just being divided.

Arguments in a lot of cases actually hold very little value, weight, moral compass, but more importantly don’t seem to ever be moving towards a solution or understanding.

Growing up during a time where consequences sometimes meant the belt or chancleta, you develop thick skin. You carry that into adulthood. So the message from my childhood was rooted in dealing with things for the sake of the greater good. We lost that somewhere.

During my lifetime, I’ve noticed the concept of “me and mine” grow into something so out of control that it’s come to everything coming from a hostile place. That anger is the go to path to finding the ultimate solution.

I watch family, friends, politicians, news people, online critics, CEOs and other people voicing their views about whatever they heard was the “right way” to think and the right things to believe.

A man once said something so profound it changed me forever. “You can’t believe something and know it.”

He explained that if you were to take three cans, fill them with water and seal them tight label, them all different colors and show those cans to a person. Could they know that there was water in all of those cans? They could not. Not until they opened the cans each and tasted what was inside. That’s the only way they could know.

So beliefs are not knowing. And a lot of the conversations are just about what people believe and not what we know to be true. So while we all sit here, trying to have a conversation about what each side believes the truth sits in the corner, watching waiting for the spotlight.

The goal isn’t to win, the goal is to know. Then comes change. Let’s have those conversations. Cause it seems to me like we’re failing right now. Ergo this song.
