Drive, kick, and relocate!!

Guards attack closeouts!!! Make quick decisive reads when defenders are running out at you to contest your shot.
1. Be shot ready!! Catch ball eyes on rim
2. Attack advantage! Is defender running you off the line? Short close forcing shot?
3. Force chaos and rotations! Touch the paint

Getting to the paint, collapsing defenses and spraying the ball out for the 3 ball is in every team’s playbook. Be able to create advantages off the catch as well as on the ball!

Ball screens generate offense
You can’t just use it - you have to READ it. That means analyzing the coverage as it’s happening, finding where the open spots are, and having the patience to let the play develop instead of rushing it. When you read it right, you can use your eyes to deceive the help and manipulate the defense to create the advantage you want.

Ball protection/Ball security
Remember Ball protection can create offense in the paint. Guards who get 2 feet in the paint, using your body as a shield allows you to keep dribble alive and make those second/third level reads!

What real protection looks like for a guard:
Be Low/Keep Handle Tight
-Dribble below the knee in traffic, pocket dribbles vs. pressure
Use your body as a shield:
-Inside shoulder to bump defender on drives, off-arm to swipe hand checks and protect ball.

When you protect with your body and off-hand

-You force the defense to foul or help which creates advantages at the Free Throw Line
-You keep your live dribble longer, gives ability to see cutters and use eyes to deceive defense.
-You get to your spots without giving up your leverage. Allows you to bump to create space or new angles!

Basketball is a GAME to many people
But
Basketball is LIFE to some!!

No matter what’s going on around me, no matter how rough life gets- There’s something about the sound of basketball that makes all the struggle and the pain go away!!

Doing what you love to do is a blessing. I feel like it’s Gods work being done everyday! The opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with the youth is so rewarding.

A basketball court is where I feel most at home!
For me, it’s one place I can be where I know what I’m doing and what I’m talking about.

Grind with purpose! Grind with passion! #dominate

no matter the score, the intensity always exists. Photos from this past weekend's games. Always an honor to photograph phenomenal athletes in action 🤝

A side note too: I'm always asked what I want to do in life- and one dream has always been to photograph a major sports league team. Hopefully one day I'll get there, but you're always going to need to put in the work with events to shoot. The work doesn't stop. If you live in the WA and need or know someone who wants photos for a sports game, hit me up! I'm a photographer who's new to the WA sports scene. Here's to hoping I connect with others and photograph unforgettable moments 🙏

September 6th, 2023 will forever be @jbobo3x heart anniversary.
Holding your child’s hand and not feeling them squeeze it back is absolutely shattering. As a parent, nothing is worse than not being able to fix what’s wrong or even be near your child in that moment. I had already lived this pain once with one child — I couldn’t imagine facing it again.

Being over thousands a miles away, I felt completely hopeless. But even when I couldn’t be there, God was by his side, and so was @jaysonm3_ . Eight long days in the ICU — through constant prayers, the hands of amazing medical staff in Florida, and the strength of God — his life was saved.

Still here. Still fighting. Still a walking miracle.
