DAY 10 ~ Lakeside 5km @athleticsvictoria 16:37 ~ 😮 (No idea where that came from 🤷‍♂️) Fastest 5km of the year, yet only good enough for 230th 😮 Always strong competition. I lacked the conditioning to keep up the early intensity, so considering I felt something in the 18 minute range would be a good result; this definitely exceeds expectations 🤩🤩 @matt__patton Thanks for the pump up, your pre race prediction of 16:30 got me moving (could have been a disaster though 😛😛) Great catching up with so many people, it has been a while 😍 #athsvic #running #asicsaustralia #keepshowingup #fitnessmotivation

The long lever problem featuring 800m athlete Jayvel Singh @jayvelsingh ⠀ In this clip you can see how Jayvel’s right elbow and knee pendulum begin to line up which improves control and reduces wasted movement. ⠀ When the hand travels too far from the shoulder, the lever becomes longer and harder to stabilise. This creates a stirring the pot motion through the torso which increases rotation, wastes energy, and makes it harder to drive force forward. ⠀ By shortening the lever and keeping the elbow compact, Jayvel improves linear force production, minimises rotation, and moves with far greater efficiency. This is crucial for high speed middle distance running. ⠀ When the arm and leg pendulums sync, the torso stays centred, energy transfers forward, and the stride becomes effortless. ⠀ Small mechanical details create big performance outcomes. ⠀ 🎥 Slow motion footage captured at Leap Performance ⠀ 👉 Want your running form broken down like this?
