It was truly an honor to be a part of the 2026 RNCM Lab Week! I've always wanted to create a piece that combines cinematic orchestral music, metal music and electronic music with real instrumentalists playing on it, and @rncmlive helped me to turn that into a reality. ADIABATIC COMPRESSION : INCANDESCENCE was recorded, mixed into 7.1.4 immersive audio and presented last week. Thank you so much for all the help and support! Introducing Sid Patrick Sid Patrick (b.2006) is a composer from Croydon, South London whose works often reshapes the boundaries between acoustic and electronic sound. His recent works such as Dew Point III and palilalia explore ideas of spectral processes, emotion in electronics, and the potential of digital manipulation in block structure. Influenced by Kate Soper, Kaija Saariaho and Trevor Wishart, Sid’s music investigates the meeting point between human expression and technological transformation and how the lines between the two can be blurred, while revealing the tension between warmth and distortion or intimacy and machinery. Sid will be showcasing his own pieces on Thursday 4th December - tickets are available via the link in our bio 🖤 #classicalmusic #classical #manchester #contemporary #composer

I've completed my first year at @rncmlive! I've done so much this third term - choir tours, recitals, competitions, concerts - and it's been so much fun! I feel really proud of how far I've come in this past year both musically and personally and am so happy that I'm here, alongside so many wonderful friends and musicians. Very grateful for all the support I've received from everybody here - particularly from my amazing tutor, Eiddwen 🌟 Looking forward to my second year!
