#throwback to Utrai- a performance from last year’s Prayatna Dance Festival

A stirring collaboration with the Pralay Band (Ecology Society Band), a contemporary-Kathak journey inspired by the verses of mystical saint-poets. This moving performance reflects on our disconnection from nature and the enduring wisdom of simplicity.
“Pani mein, meen pyasi” — “The fish is thirsty in water.”
Through rhythm, poetry, and live music, audiences are invited to pause and rediscover the sacred in the everyday.

Choreography and Direction- @hrishikesh.pawar

We do NOT want sewage treatment plant in this pristine biodiversity heritage site at GANESHKHIND

BHS exists for conservation—not consumption

PMC claims this is an environmentally friendly project.

How is it environmentally friendly. By treating sewage in a location which doesn’t produce any sewage at all?

How is it environmentally friendly when they’re destroying pristine riparian forests and a notified biodiversity heritage site to put this STP over there.

Save trees of Ganeshkhind road. We want the heritage trees to be untouched. We already have metro and a double decker flyover. Do not touch the trees below

Every creative process carries its own resistance — moments of doubt, tension, or silence. For Hrishikesh Pawar, these challenges aren’t barriers, but material. They shape the work, becoming part of the rhythm and vocabulary of the body.

And in that process lies a dialogue — between tradition and now. Between gestures inherited from tradition, and gestures questioned.

Between memory and lived realities.

This is where contemporary dance begins: in the negotiation, the breaking open, and the reimagining of movement itself.

What begins as a spark often takes shape in the body before it finds words.
In this reel series, Artistic Director @hrishikesh.pawar opens up his process - one where images, sound, and silence collide to become movement.

This is not choreography as steps, but as questions, textures, and shifting rhythms.
A glimpse into how stories breathe through the dancing body.
