Our Ignite team represented JBU at the Enactus National Expo in Denver, Colorado—and we’re excited to share that they received the Passion on Purpose Award from Enactus USA, selected out of 32 universities at Nationals!

This prestigious recognition celebrates teams that demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and meaningful impact through entrepreneurial action, sustainable solutions, and collaborative leadership.

From tackling food insecurity in Arkansas to launching opportunity in Uganda, our students are turning ideas into impact—serving people, stewarding resources, and leading with purpose.

We’re incredibly proud of the way this team competed, collaborated, and represented something bigger than themselves.

🚀 The Enactus Team Spotlight series continues with @jbu_ignite of @johnbrownuniversity !

John Brown University is creating impact across communities through entrepreneurial action and collaboration. Through two community-driven projects, students are helping build stronger systems both close to home and abroad.

In partnership with Mwyrea in Uganda, the team helped launch a revenue-generating shuttle service that supports farmer grants and agricultural training, creating a model for long-term local investment. Closer to home, students are also supporting greenhouse construction, food distribution, and nonprofit farm operations to strengthen food access and expand community capacity.

This is impact rooted in partnership, purpose, and practical action. We can’t wait to cheer on John Brown University at the 2026 Enactus USA National Exposition.

Many hands make light work! For this morning’s “all hands on deck” service day, many volunteers served the garden (including JBU Ignite’s “Supporting the Elder” project), but Seed & Soul stained the 25x25 raised beds, weeded the garlic, and helped prepare some new raised beds. Glory to Jesus Christ!
