Nike After Dark Half Marathon ✔️🏁

The start of this year, I gave myself a goal and it was to run a Half Marathon. If you had asked me if I’d ever run a marathon, the answer would’ve been a hard no. It felt completely out of reach. I was the girl who said, “I’m not a runner,” who is always in her head, focused on pace, and would prefer weight training any day.

But I’ve learned that running is so much more than how fast you can finish a mile. It’s a mental game. It’s discipline. It’s resilience. And while I’m not ready to say I love running just yet lol , I do love what it’s taught me about myself.

To my support system, THANK YOU! You all showed up for me. Your voice notes, messages, phone calls kept me going. It was by mile 10 where my ankle really started to hurt and I got in my head. I even called my Dad to talk me through it lol But I fought through it and remembered my WHY and it was all waiting for me at the finish line.

Special shoutout to my coach and close friend, @salu_gbla ! If I told you how many eye rolls he’s had to deal with during this training, you wouldn’t believe me lol. 3 years ago, neither of us would’ve guessed I’d be here… but look at us now. From day 1 you’ve been in my corner, always believing in me. Thank you for your endless support, patience, and push. Couldn’t have done it without you!

To the girls who showed up and pushed through: I’m so proud of us. WE DID THAT. 💪🏽💫
