#VoteHendersonJune2026 @henderson4casuperintendent story is the story of our public schools. She started as a paraprofessional in @lausdschools , became a sixth-grade teacher in Compton, and now prepares future educators as a lecturer and teacher-educator at @fresno_state . She knows firsthand what students, families, and teachers face every day. And that perspective matters, especially in a system where 79% of teachers are White, but over 40% of our students are Black or Latino. Only about 16% of teachers come from those communities. @mrs_en_em_hen_ understands the cultural and academic realities of today’s classrooms because she has lived them at every level. She has also broken barriers in leadership. While nearly 80% of teachers are women, only 1 in 4 superintendents are, and women of color represent only a small portion of that group. In higher education, only 28% of leaders are people of color. Yet Nichelle has stepped into roles that shape policy across Los Angeles County: • Former Chair of the @laccd_edu Board of Trustees • Labor representative • Statewide union leader • Advocate on legislative and budget committees Her leadership is grounded, people-centered, and informed by decades inside the classroom, not outside of it. Research shows leaders of color spend more time strengthening instruction, supporting teachers, and engaging families. That is who Nichelle is: someone who leads from lived experience, not theory. And it’s rooted in her upbringing, raised by hardworking union parents who taught her compassion, courage, and the responsibility to stand firm in your values. That’s the kind of leadership our communities deserve. Rooted and unwavering. So, I invite you to join me in supporting Nichelle Henderson, a leader who reflects the communities she serves, who understands what our students and educators face, and who is ready to bring experience, equity, and heart to the work ahead. This is my CTA: ✅ Host a gathering ✅ Donate tonight ✅ Phone bank ✅ Door knock Pick one because doing nothing is never ok. #HENDERSON4STATESUPERINTENDENT2026 #EmergeGrad #SistahsEmerge #EmergeCa #publicschooleducation #K12 #CAschools #credentialed #qualified

It’s been such an incredible few weeks with @sfyoungdems as your Vice President, from moderating an incredible panel with former Young Dem candidates on how to run for office, to getting into the streets to say #YESonProp50 and #NOKINGS in the USA!! 🇺🇸 San Francisco is a city worth fighting for, and the work continues as the federal government continues to infringe on our rights and the safety of our communities. Young people have always been on the front lines of these fights, and NOW is the time to step up and get involved. Be sure to join @sfyoungdems, @caworkingfamiliesparty, @harveymilkclub, and @sflabor in these efforts!! ✊🏼

Season’s greetings YO! Cali family✨💖 YO! Cali is excited to introduce you to the 5th Cohort of our beloved Emerging Organizers Fellowship (EOF). This year, we have a powerful cohort of 22 Fellows, who are leading bold movements for racial, gender, LGBTQ, economic, environmental, educational, immigrant, and health justice across the state! ✊🏽❤️ 🌊🔥🌎💨 After 2 cohorts of going completely virtual as a response to the national pandemic, the fellowship is excited to return to some of its roots by taking a hybrid approach to our Fellowship this year. We kicked off the fellowship this October with an in person retreat; you can see some of the beautiful moments we shared in the background of the slides above. We deeply appreciate the opportunity to work with our fellows and partner organizations across the state to strengthen the pathways for youth organizers in the field and transform our communities ❤️🎊

No words can describe how surreal it feels to have reached this milestone. Forever grateful for every experience and connection I’ve made during my years at SFSU. I look forward to the new heights I’ll reach and cannot thank my family and friends enough for helping me along the way. This is only the beginning 💜💛 📸: @icanheartheheartbeatingas1
