At Sneaker Room, giving back to the community is at the heart of everything we do. This week, our founder Suraj traveled to Puerto Rico to join forces with the Jersey City Puerto Rican Heritage Art and Culture Foundation to uplift and support local youth. We were proud to donate Nike and Jordan bags to the kids, spreading joy and showing love from Jersey City to Puerto Rico. Sneaker Room is committed to creating positive change—together, we make a difference.

What a humble beginnings, throwback to my favorite moments, when I went to @116thstreetfestival in my miles morales suit, not only I was loved by many, but I felt it was my calling to do this, by representing who I am as a boricua to participate the festival and parades, at first I was afraid to do it but I went and risk and I had a blast, before I debuted as Puerto Rican ranger, I began wearing miles morales spiderman, a afro Latino Puerto Rican who is like me a afro Latino. We both have dad's who are cops, although my mom wasn't a nurse or like his mom. My mom did really nurse me to make sure I was here, because of my medical condition that I am born with that I almost couldn't make it here when I was a kid.

But here I am, these best moments in my miles morales , being part of @116thstreetfestival @prparade @jcprhac @elgritodeles @elbarrio_parade pre @theboricuaverse days it was a amazing humble beginnings and meeting @craftycontraptions @floris_lilium and @smiling_litzy they inspire me to create my Puerto Rican ranger, I can't wait to go back again this year

The JCPRHAC Youth Ambassadors and MS #7 NJHS warmly invite you to Santa’s Workshop on Thursday, December 19th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Middle School 7, located at 222 Laidlaw Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306. I had a wonderful time at this event with many kids, where we had the chance to meet Santa and the Grinch. We decorated gingerbread cookies, made holiday ornaments, and wrote letters to Santa. In my letter, I shared my wish for a happier world and asked Santa to encourage kindness in everyone so we can reduce negativity. I also emphasized the need to stand for the truth and tackle the negative issues affecting our world. Together, we can come together to support innocent individuals suffering around the globe and create a positive impact in meaningful and creative ways.

“El valor no se demuestra golpeando a un hombre atado, sino enfrentando las fuerzas que lo han atado.” – Pedro Albizu Campos

“Courage is not shown by striking a man who is bound, but by confronting the forces that have bound him.” — Pedro Albizu Campos

Today we honor the legacy of Don Pedro Albizu Campos, a man whose unwavering dedication to Puerto Rico’s independence continues to inspire us. Puerto Rico’s relationship with the U.S. remains entangled in layers of history, power, control and disrespect. We don’t hold onto our children forever, we raise them to stand on their own two feet. Why, then, do we cling to a colony, denying it the freedom to find its own path?

Here’s a glimpse into his powerful story.
