Still taking it all in. Big ups & an even bigger thank you to each & everyone who came out and made Champion Lover at @rosesva_ a night we won’t forget anytime soon.

From the first record to the last, the love was felt throughout the entire room. The music, the people, the energy, everything came together exactly how we hoped it would. We can’t thank you enough for continuing to show up, trust what we’re building & grow with us.

Shouts to our selectors Kill Devil Dub, Doddie, Nobe & JDeBeck for doing it up proper all night, plus Get Live for stepping in with a special impromptu set. The energy simply never let up.

Major thanks to the entire Roses staff & crew for opening their doors to us and helping make the night feel effortless from start to finish. Extra love to the kitchen & bar teams for putting together a special food & drink menu just for the occasion and helping us bring the full Champion Lover experience to life.

This one was special. We absolutely can’t wait to do it again.

Next up, September 26th. We’re back live & direct from the Seaside Patio.

🎟️ & lineup dropping real soon.

We’ll see you there.

About JDeBeck:

With more than 35 years of listening, collecting, and playing Jamaican music, JD brings deep roots and lived experience to every set. His vinyl archive spans over 20,000 records, primarily 45s, and as a longtime member of New York’s legendary Deadly Dragon Sound, he has spent more than 25 years playing Jamaican vinyl across the city with authenticity, taste, and respect for the culture.

Every session is a journey through Jamaica’s musical history, from ska, rocksteady, early reggae, roots, dub, rub-a-dub, lovers rock, and dancehall to digital roots, with Jamaican soul, jazz, and reggae covers woven throughout. Grounded in deep musical knowledge, his selections blend rare gems, timeless classics, and familiar favorites.
