When our son moved to the North Shore a few years back, we felt the nerves that come with distance from family - and wondered how he would fit into such a tight-knit, local community.

The way Travis was welcomed in has really blown us away. The support and friendships have really connected our family on a deeper level to this community and have taught him so much. We are forever grateful.

Watching the recent flooding is beyond heartbreaking when you care so much about the people going through it. And while we know the strength and resilience of the North Shore community and how they take care of their own, we are also hoping the broader surf community can rally and show their support.

Distant Local will be donating 100% of proceeds from all Hawaii online merchandise sales directly to Uncle members of the North Shore community to support their local relief efforts.

Thanks to everyone who has called to check in on Travis. Our friend’s place he stays at in Haleiwa is safe. The storm hit when he was home on spring break and he’s headed back Tuesday with supplies. DM us if there’s any other ideas on how we can help please.

We are all Ohana

❤️Melissa & Jeff

Gracias

It was all a dream, until it wasn’t. 10 years later, it’s my life.
Prayed to God when Eden was born…….”help me stay sober, and please help me teach my son how to defend himself.
So God put those people in my life. Grateful 💙🙏🏽👊🏽
