June was a lot! But in a good way. It was one of those months that reminded me why I love the work that I do. Not because it was busy, but because every engagement connected to the same purpose - helping people, organizations, and communities communicate their value in ways that create connection, opportunity, and impact.

Last month, I celebrated alongside my amazing board members at MMCA during the Steel Toe Boot Awards Gala, and was surprised to receive the Professional Services Partner of the Year Award. I also spent Juneteenth with my clients at Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park for an amazing week where history, storytelling, and community came together in one of the most meaningful celebrations of the year.

💡 And while all of those things were happening, I rebuilt my website, launched my podcast, and prepared myself for the latest cohort with The Branded Content Project. Now I'm packing my bags for speaking engagements that will take me to audiences across the country to talk about communication, storytelling, and economic impact.

If you're new here, welcome to my community. I'm so glad to have you here. And if you've been following along for a while, thank you for continuing to be part of this journey.

If social media is the new highlight reel, my newsletter is where we have the real conversation. I'd love for you to join me ‘Beyond The Highlight Reel'.

👉🏽 Comment ‘Highlight’ for a recap of my past 3 emails in the Beyond The Highlight Reel' series.

Let's just put it out there.

I've always been a storyteller…way before it was the “cool thing” to do.

I was the little girl writing my own mini-series in her notebooks; the college student who got lost in literature; and the woman who became Editor-In-Chief of a minority owned and operated magazine.

I've always been the woman who sees possibility where others see something ordinary. I'm the Creator who believes our stories have the power to change perceptions, build businesses, strengthen communities, and create opportunities. And I'm the woman who always encourages others to speak up and own their story.

That's why I created I've Got a Story to Tell, a podcast that celebrates the power of transformative stories.

It's a space where we celebrate creativity, culture, communication, and community. We'll share the stories of Black and Brown people that shape our communities, explore the connection between storytelling and economic empowerment, and have powerful conversations about building a life that makes room for both purpose and creativity.

Whether you're building a business, pursuing a creative passion, or just love discovering people's unique journeys, this is the place where storytelling and strategy align for impact.

🎥 My channel trailer is officially live, and I'd love for you to be one of the first to join this community.

Watch, subscribe, share and tell me...What's the story that YOU want to tell?

Last night was absolutely amazing. Our nonprofit organization Metrolina Minority Contractor's Association held its annual Steel Toe Boot Awards Gala. It's an evening of celebration for excellence in minority contracting in the Charlotte region. I'm honored to be a part of an organization committed to economic growth and development in this growing city.
My biggest surprise was being awarded Professional Services Partner of the year. I truly love this space that I'm in getting to both serve my community and support other small business owners.

Our stories are so powerful. As a Communications Strategist, my job is to share stories that showcase our value and our impact. I'm grateful that I'm able to use my platform to share our success as a community.
Thank you to everyone who came to support, and those who sent their well wishes.

Just call me Day to Night Barbie. 🩷 Between work and play, I've been on roller skates this week.
Two nights out in a row during the week.
Who is this girl? 😄

Somebody send me a care package with some sunscreen and some Epson salt.

I didn't love every moment of 2025, but in every moment God was loving me.

Weddings, reunions, babies, girl's trips, conferences, new clients, old clients, mentors, museums, cornbread, live music, plane rides, gardening, books, and bourbon.

- It's never one thing that fuels your happiness; it's all the things. I fought for Joy and I won.

My heart and my life are full.
God is good.
