Our 2 week BBQ Competition adventure ended at the 2026 @royaloakcharcoal Invitational! This year they teamed up with @mossyoak and put on one heck of a competition for us! One of the biggest reasons we worked so hard to join TRO was because of all that we heard about this weekend and we wanted to be a part of it! It didn’t disappoint and we hope we are lucky enough to be able to go back next year! Their campus headquarters were really beautiful and their hospitality for all us cooks was amazing, there was things to do for the whole family and anything we needed they made sure we got it! We met a lot of people that we don’t ever get the chance to meet which was awesome and felt like our bbq family doubled in size! Big thanks to Craig and the whole team at Royal Oak our family had a great time! My mind is blown! This was an amazing event put on by my family @royaloakcharcoal The Royal Oak invitational amazing bbq comp where I got a chance to cook with my Northwest Brothers @slowporkinbbq @bootiesbbq @robs_smokin_grillin_bbq @allencarter3801 @rjs_smokehouse_and_bbq_joint @familymannbbq . Also got to see and cook with my Midwest and South family @jdqbbq @jdubwilliams @damnfinebeefandswine @burntfingermegan @sweetiesbarbq @barbequeprincess Yazoo family and my Mississippi Brothers @thebbqninja Thank you Craig for taking such good care of us!!🤙🏾🙏🏾 Thank you Mike @bestdamnbbqsauce and Jason and Alta @rjs_smokehouse_and_bbq_joint for allowing me to use your smokers at the invitational! Congratulations to two of my other barbecue brother, Chris @crossedriflesbbq on the GC And Bill @chickenfriedbbq on the RGC . . As one of my big brothers told me this comp will humble you and man was I put in my place. Although I was happy with all my meats except for chicken. Some days it’s just not your day . Overall, 32nd Chicken 37th Ribs 9th… I really love the ribs. I did get a call.🤙🏾 Pork 28th Brisket 34th I just have to remind myself that every team on here has won a GC!! every team here is an amazing cook! huge thank you again to Royal Oak for showing such amazing southern hospitality! @royaloakcharcoal Invitational was another amazing event!! This company not only makes a great product but takes care of the BBQ family. It was a great time at the headquarters meeting all the amazing people and teams associated with this brand. This is a meat provided and only champions invited to this competition. The field is crazy tough. I thought the pork and brisket had a shot but needed to find our table. We clearly did not find those tables.. Congrats @crossedriflesbbq on the GC! And @chickenfriedbbq On the RGC. Not the results I hoped for but it was still a great time cooking with my bbq brothers @robs_smokin_grillin_bbq , @allencarter984 , @_therealslomoque , and @bootiesbbq . Also got to see some old friends from all over the country. @limpbrizkit_bbq @bmackinbbq @jdqbbq @robertsierrabarbecue @rollingsmokebaby Thank you for the support and the invite. What a weekend at the @royaloakcharcoal Invitational in Roswell, GA! 🔥🤘 We had a great time hanging out woth the staff and families at Royal Pak and competing against some incredible teams. we were happy to come away with some solid results: 🍗 **9th Place Chicken** 🐖 **3rd Place Ribs** 🥩 **10th Place Brisket** 🏆 **14th Overall** A huge congratulations to @crossedriflesbbq on taking home Grand Champion and @chickenfriedbbq on Reserve Grand Champion! Well deserved, fellas! 👏 A big THANK YOU to Craig @thebbqninja and the entire team at Royal Oak Charcoal for the hospitality and for putting on an awesome event. We’re grateful to be part of it and always appreciate the opportunity to compete alongside so many talented teams. Another American Royal in the books for Tillman’s Barbecue! 🔥🐷 We didn’t get the results we hoped for, but the experience is always worth the trip. Hanging out with BBQ friends from around the world never gets old, and we had a blast the entire week! A big thank-you to @bardownkincardine bbq kincad for flying in to give me a hand. We always have a great time together, and I appreciate the help and friendship! Congratulations to everyone who heard their names called! Jason and I ventured to Spring Hill, TN to compete in the @steakcookoffs inaugural Whole Hog Cookoff, at the 2026 John Maher Builders Whole Hog Festival benefiting The Well Outreach Food Pantry . What a great contest and festival, for a great cause! The contest consisted of two parts. People's Choice and blind judging. Each team had to supply 250 samples of their whole hog, in whatever way they chose. We chose "The Original Pork Star!"- A liege waffle topped with succulent whole hog, caramelized apple and onion, Thai pepper chutney, and laced with Sweet Addiction sauce. The blind judging had to consist of 3 sections of the hog- shoulder, loin, and ham. Each category was awarded separately. The Grand Champion was awarded to the team with the highest combined total. Glory to God! 2nd People's Choice 2nd Compart Family Farms TN Craft Butcher Whole Hog GRAND CHAMPIONS! We battled A LOT of obstacles at this contest. However, with God all things are possible. As a Chef, we have a motto; MAKE IT HAPPEN! Elizabeth Lipa, Jimmy Driver and the entire The Well Outreach did an outstanding job! To say we are stoked, is an understatement. Thank you to our beautiful wives for allowing us to do this crazy stuff. To tackle a contest like this, it takes an army. We couldn't have done it without our friends, Buck-Lou Buchanan and Todd Morison. Using and teaming up with great brands is of huge importance. THANK YOU! We are well rested and back at home from the Stover Rock Island Festival in Stover, MO. We haven’t been to this contest in 3 years so coming back was just as fun as it was the last time we were here! Not to mention all the bbq family we got to see again.
