POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I am proud of our way. Proud of my fellow @israelisforpeacenyc organizers. Proud of all who stood with us on this difficult night.

It was very hard night to face such an enormous amount of hate. We were deeply honored to host the Mayor, renowned religious leaders, and public officials as we read testimonies from October 7 survivors and hostage families, as well as Palestinians surviving the atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank.

And we called for an end to the killing. We called for peace.

I’m truly overwhelmed and appreciative of all the messages of support and love. When you face such levels of hate, you feel very vulnerable and isolated. So it means a lot. Thank you. I’ll try to get back to everyone.

Peacemaking often requires challenging your own community. It means facing the binary, rigid, tribal, intolerant, and sometimes violent reactions that come when we offer another path, one based on our shared humanity rather than narrow ideological differences.

A path that believes there will be no liberation or freedom for anyone if we don’t work together.

And that only together can we free all of us from violence and hate. Not by further decoupling our pain. By insisting the killing stops and healing and rebuilding and reconciliation and peace begin.

There are Israelis and Jews who have lost people they love in these wars, carrying pain that could so easily have turned into anger and hatred.

And yet, they continue to choose another path.

They stand alongside their Palestinian partners, raise their voices to end the violence, and refuse to let their own loss become the reason another family must suffer the same.

We may not always be able to say everything, or share everything…

But we see you.

We see the courage it takes to stand against hatred. We see those who, despite everything they have lost, remain determined to believe that the future of Palestinians and Israelis should not be measured in more graves.

Peace does not mean forgetting those we have lost.
It means refusing to lose more.

And in the midst of all this darkness, you are among the reasons we still believe that hope is alive. 🤍

💭 OPINION: For Israelis abroad, voting means boarding a plane.

Josh Drill writes that Israel does not permit ordinary citizens abroad to vote absentee, so Israelis in New York and elsewhere must fly home to reach the ballot box.

Senior Transportation Ministry officials, under Minister Miri Regev, reportedly discussed limiting charter flight slots before the election, out of reported concern that returning Israelis would vote against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

:

We call for an end to the endless wars; in Iran, in Lebanon, in Gaza, in the West Bank, in Israel. We are here to say - ENOUGH!
