After Dolly Parton’s passing, I looked through my photos and found these shots of the land of her roots: East Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains.

I took these in 2024, during my first visit to the area.

Dolly Parton won the admiration of so many around the world. Whatever gifts she was given, she paid forward, for the benefit of all of humanity.

As a previous Dolly said on a Broadway stage: “So long, dearie.”
