happiest birthday to our daddy ❤️

you spent your birthday doing what you do best — being a present dad, cheering on the littlest Williams from the sidelines as he won not one, but two rings. 🏈

every trip around the sun gets a little crazier, a little louder, and a whole lot more chaotic with this sports life of ours, but i couldn’t imagine doing any of it any other way or with anyone else.

thank you for your hard work, your dedication, and the unconditional love you pour into our family. thank you for making me a mom, making me your wife, and giving me this beautiful life we get to call ours.

i’m so grateful for your persistence, your personality, and especially all the quiet ways you show love that don’t always get the recognition they deserve. i see them. i see you. and i hope you always know how loved and appreciated you are.

I couldn’t have gotten it all done without my village, and there’s something to be said about the people who show up for your kids in ways you never even have to ask. I’ll never stop being grateful for the people who love mine like their own 💛

I always pray that you never shy away from shining your light in every space you take up. you were meant to shine, baby. don’t ever make yourself smaller for anyone, and never let anyone convince you to dim what God put inside of you.

we spend so much of our life being mom & dad.

work. football. practices. games. schedules. rides. groceries. figuring out who needs to be where and when 😂

and I love the life we’ve built.

but every once in a while I really freaking love getting to leave all of that behind for a minute and just be Sloane & Josh. 🤎

no coach & team mom.
no coordinating four kids.
no “what time do we need to leave?”
or "what's for dinner?"

okay actually there’s probably still gonna be a lot of that last one 😂

he said- one date and we'll celebrate the years 🤪 but let me remind yall that if this man didn't have a brain fart on aug 26, we would have had one day 😂

highly underrated part of being together this long:

the look.

no explanation. no context. sometimes not even a word.

just one glance across a football field / family function / room full of people and somehow an entire conversation has taken place 😂

we’ve grown up together, built a family together, annoyed the hell out of each other, figured things out as we went and somehow still manage to make each other laugh through most of it.

lately i’ve been thinking a lot about being more intentional about us—not just being mom & dad, coach & team mom, or the two people coordinating everybody else’s life.

because underneath all this chaos…

and we really thought youth football was expensive 😂😂😂

turns out we were just in training.

practice drop-offs → road trips
team gear → game day fits
concession stands → hotel reservations
friday night lights → saturday football

and somehow we’re still standing next to each other yelling the same kid’s number, never loud enough imo. 😂🏈

same parents.
bigger commute.
significantly more expensive outfits.
but a moment for daddy's player-issued hat his boy gave him 🥰

just a week ago I was sitting on the couch with the realization that friday nights don’t belong to us anymore.

yesterday, I woke up in Laramie to watch my baby play his first college football game. like what? 🥹

motherhood is funny like that.

just when you’re grieving the end of one version of your life, you realize you aren’t actually at the end.

the view just changed.

I don’t get the practices anymore.
I don’t get him walking through my door every night.
I don’t get to know every little part of his day.

and I’m still learning how to be okay with that.

but I still get to be his mom.

I still get to wear his number.
I still get nervous before kickoff.
I still get to yell entirely too loud from the stands. 😂
I still get to make the drive.

and I will. We will.

however many miles separate us in this season, if our baby is playing football, his mom and dad are finding their way into those stands. 🤎🏈

thank you mom and nale'a for joining us for this incredible milestone. this moment doesn't just belong to our son, but to everyone that has played a part in getting him here. we share this moment with everyone that has ever been a part of our village. and i know papa is so fucking proud. he's lookin down on us sayin "told you guys"🪽

after 13 years, one thing is for sure and two things are for certain:
you're my person, and i love you 💛

4 beautiful kids, all excelling in different parts of life. a home can call ours and memories to cherish in every lifetime. we've come so far, and not without the help of our loved ones. but the best part is knowing the best has yet to come.

our kids will never have to wonder if their dad cared enough, because you always made sure to sit in the front row.
their biggest cheerleader and their biggest critic 😆
the father you are helps shape the mother i am, and the best part is watching you still find ways to grow even as our kids begin their own life journeys.
thank you for always making sure our family is okay. you've always put us first and we never have to know a life without knowing what it feels like.
