a six-year chapter in this studio is coming to an end.
it feels strange to say, but these have been some of the best years of my life.

so many long nights of work, emotions, stress, tears and cleaning.
I’ve never cleaned as much as I did here.
I went from a minimalist to a hoarder, and somehow back to having nothing again, but more at the same time.

this space held everything.
my bachelor project with @annabremnes,
my master project last year,
and everyday life and work shared with the best @messymarion @gamlemercedes @devdhunsi @je9st1

thank you @karolinebakkenlund for making this space possible,
not just as a studio, but as a community @mimosa.studio

end of a chapter. beginning of something new🤍

The exhibition presents four experimental fashion designers from the Nordics. The designers are challenging traditional approaches to garment making and the fashioned body. With unusual shapes and mix of materials, their hybrid forms address questions of heritage, identity and borders.

We would like to thank @herold_studio @je9st1 @miriam_rachel_s and @ruusa._ and @nasjonalmuseet for the collaboration on this striking show.

The exhibition ‘Beyond Bodies’ is a collaboration between ALPHA and the National Museum in Oslo. It presents a new generation of designers that is challenging traditional
approaches to clothing and the fashioned body.

Jennie Steen (Norway). ‘Objects in the Mirror May Appear Closer’. 2022
‘I am using my craft to understand the world – with clothes as my medium – and challenge the way we view, use and work with clothes,’ says @je9st1. She explores new ways to expand fashion as a practice, the role of the designer and the ways in which garments affect how we engage with the world. Her billowing kinetic textile sculptures simulate how the wind can puff up a cyclist’s garments, turning them into extensions of the body through inflation and deflation. All the sculptures are made of Tyvek, a material used in costume conservation and building insulation.

“Beyond Bodies - Four Nordic Fashion Experiments” is open!

Nordic fashion is on the rise. A new generation of designers is challenging traditional
approaches to clothing by experimenting with the very essence of fashion: the human form.
The installation presents works by four recent graduates from Nordic fashion schools: @miriam_rachel_s, @ruusa._, @je9st1 and @herold_studio

The works blur the boundaries between fashion and art. Using a mix of traditional and contemporary fashion design methods, craft techniques and materials - including pre-loved and recycled fabrics, innovative knitwear, homespun flax, insulation materials and hand-dyed silk - they create unusual shapes and hybrid forms that raise questions about heritage, identity and borders. From multiple perspectives, the works insist on room for exploration and experimentation, and the designers present an alternative future for Nordic fashion.

Nå kan du oppleve «Hinsides kroppen»! 🌟
