Riding for the Northern White Rhinos is more than cycling—it’s a mission to save one of the most endangered species on Earth. With only Fatu and Najin left, raising awareness and funds for their conservation is urgent. Through my rides, I inspire action, connect with nature, and engage communities in the fight against extinction. Every mile is a statement of resilience and dedication to ensuring future generations witness these majestic creatures. This journey continues, and as long as there’s a road to ride, I will keep pushing forward to keep their legacy alive.

Gila Monsters Only Need to Eat a Few Times per Year
These large lizards raid nests to eat eggs and small birds, and can also catch frogs and small mammals with their powerful bite, killing them with their strong jaw and sharp teeth. They also eat insects and already-dead animals they might come across.

They can eat pretty huge meals, consuming up to one-third of their weight in one session. Since they store fat well and have a low metabolic rate (that’s part of the reason they’re pretty non-aggressive), they don’t need to eat all that much to stay healthy. #gilamonster

Muntjac deer have noticeable “holes” on their faces. These “holes” aren’t actually holes. They are scent glands that muntjac deer use to mark their territories.
If you were to look at an image of a muntjack deer, you will notice a “V” shape on their foreheads, these are known as their frontal glands.
A preorbital gland is an exocrine gland. These types of glands include mammary, salivary, lacrimal, and mucous glands. #natureisamazing

Giant anteaters have a long, distinctive snout with a 2-foot-long tongue and no teeth. They may have diminished senses of hearing and sight, but they have a highly developed sense of smell.

These anteaters are distinctively patterned in various shades of brown with wide, black stripes that run from their upper front legs toward their spine. Their front legs are white, and they have a bushy tail. They have no undercoats to provide warmth; instead they have bristly, short hair on their shoulders and longer hair on their legs and tail, which resembles the texture of a horse's mane.

Giant anteaters protect their sharp front claws by tucking them into their palms and walking on their front knuckles. Their back feet and claws are more similar to bears (they only knuckle walk with their front feet). They walk in a slow, shuffling gait but when necessary can gallop at over 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour). They can also climb and swim. 🐜🍽️ According to the IUCN Red List, the giant anteater is listed as Vulnerable. It’s considered the most threatened mammal of Central America and is listed on Appendix II of CITES and its range lies in many protected areas.

The giant anteater also features on the ZSL EDGE of Existence Mammal List due to its threatened status and its high evolutionary distinctiveness. The main threats to the giant anteater include habitat loss through fires, hunting as pests or for food and being killed by cars when crossing roads that run through their natural habitat.

Other common names include the Chinese tragopan and the yellow-bellied tragopan. The population is divided into two subspecies, of which the nominate race is found in the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and Guangdong, and T. c. guangxiensis is confined to northeastern Guangxi and southern Hunan. The IUCN has assessed it as being a vulnerable species
